    Vegetable glycerin and Propylene glycol are both humectants. Try using a dry shampoo in between your hair washings and try using a lighter conditioner or spray conditioner on your hair, just remember to use on your ends only your scalp has enough oils.

    Have you tried changing your pg/vg ratios to see if it helps? Or you might want to try an odor neutralizing candle in a scent that he can tolerate.
