    I think the main thing here is different viscosity in the different ingredients. It may not be properly mixed at first, but with a little time or heating(to reduce viscosity) the mix gets more uniform.

    I am about to try PG with different food-flavorings. You should be able to get PG or VG at your local store/pharmacy and the food flavoring should be pretty easy to obtain. I have only been vaping for a few days, have found that a little rum-essence is really nice with tobacco e-juice. :-)...

    You can also take an amount of flavoring, and cut it with pure PG/VG. Say 50/50. You can then use double amount of flavoring, which should make the measurements more accurate.
