    Dual coil cartos do not perform their best on ego batteries. Before you reject the carto tank idea altogether I suggest you try a 1.5 or 1.7 ohm single coil in that tank. You will have to get an XL version to have it fit in DCT. Odd how subjective experience can be so different from one person...
