I have condensed the USB rechargeable nicostick down a bit by creating my own custom PCB. This mod uses the maxim max1811 charge chip.
It was a PIA, but I am having fun doing it!
I stopped coughing after 3 days. The wife says after about 2 weeks I was snoring less.
It's been 13 weeks and I ran a mile last week. I was winded but I made it 1 mile.
Best of luck
ps. I am still not convinced I ever snored. I have never heard it :)
It does not have to be 2 complete wires from the switch to the VR and Atty. The switch and the Atty could both be soldered to the Gnd on the VR
Check you VR documentation to make sure I have the correct pins for the reds as you did not list what model your using.
Cheers
Black wire from negative battery to switch center pin
Black wire from ON side of the kill switch to the atty and the center pin on the VR
Red wire from positive battery to momentary switch
Red wire from the other side of the momentary to the VR-IN
Red wire from VR-Out to center of the atty...
I sold 9 box mods and was told to register as a supplier. I dont really want a business, I was just having fun making the mods. I would have to sells hundreds to get back what I have into vaping. Who has the time for that?
I really dont think 9 in 6 weeks time should make me a supplier.
I am seriously thinking of using solder paste and just baking it in the oven. I have never soldered before finding this forum. I do have the benefit of working with a couple electrical engineers. I am a IT Systems Administrator.
I will post so close ups when I have the PCB etched.
Here...
I had to post this. First post on youtube ever. While watching this think of the Castaway sceen when Tom Hanks get the fire started
YouTube - Ecig touch switch
Thought about that but I am going to make a custom pcb with a usb charge chip aad touch switch. My PCB is 1.5" x 0.46'
That was the easiest resistor to use tonight. The resistors on the board are package 0805(very small)
WOOHOO....Here we have my first touch switch. I have not etched my boards yet ...I want to make sure the MOSFET work the way I thought it would
The penny is there to show the size of a SOT23-6 chip
ad2covert - That board is only .34 x .46"
Well my circuit board is all designed. Just need to etch it. All my surface mount capacitors came yesterday. Those RS capacitors are way to huge.
Hopefully tonight or tomorrow
Putting the connector on the inside gives the atty strength. Without counter-sinking the atty into the box you could break the connector from the box.
I sink mine half way to prevent them from braking in my pocket.
