    I have not had it get hot enogh to melt the case but I did make a heatsink out of some brass shim stock. I shaped the shim into a coil with a flat area to touch the metal side of the regulator.

    One of the engineers I work with gave it to me out of a spare parts box. Pretty sure it came from digikey, mouser, or newark I usually use Radio Shack part# 274-0644 for my mods

    Output is a constant 5v till the batteries get down to <5.5v which is the minimum needed for the regulator to function. Both the atty and the regulator get quite hot so you cannot constantly vape but the vapor output is thick enough that your do not have to.
