    looking at the vid when he takes the mod apart, it seems like he stuck the entire tip of a syringe (with plastic) and shoved it in there upside down, so that it more or less seals the opening of the bottle.

    Are you getting the XL? I had to go down to an 18490 batt, with the smaller VMOD you'll need to reduce battery size to 18350 and might not get much time out of that since the kick uses up to 20% of batt power itself.
