    Does vaping cause phlegm?

A week or two after I quit smoking and started vaping, I had some horrible tasting phelgm. Really really awful and it went on for about a week. I think it was my body clearing the funk out of my sinuses from smoking.

Maryland about to ban sale of electronic cigarettes

I don't believe the FDA is in bed with tobacco and pharmaceutical companies. I think they're just doing their job. But that doesn't make them right nor their tactics pure. Take that ecig analysis report last year, for example. They didn't lie in that report, but it's quite misleading. So they're...

    A Win in MD?

Woohoo! That sure looks like 720 got voted down. Maybe that would've happened anyway, but it's nice to think our emails had an impact :) Now, onto that new bill... Just looking at the wording of it, I don't see how it would apply to us. Vaporizers don't produce smoke. I wonder if the intent of...

How Much Liquid Do You Use Per Day?

I answered 1-2ml, but I think it's more like 2-3ml. It somewhat depends on how well my atty is working. I consider myself a heavy vaper, but I don't make gobs of vapor with my ecig. I use a standard Joye 510. Nic level ranges from about 5.5mg to 11mg, with a couple drops of 18mg now and then.

    How many mg's of nicotine?

When you're just getting started, it's a good idea to get a few strengths since you won't really know what works best until you try it out. As a starting point, though, I'd suggest 18mg. You might need to go up to 24mg initially, but I think it's unlikely 18 would be too strong for you.

Should the Current Health Care Reform bill be signed into law.

There's some tort reform in this? Now that I hadn't heard. I'll have to read more about that because we certainly needed it. I think when you also factor in people with pre-existing conditions and poorer people who needed the healthcare but couldn't afford it, it's ultimately going to strain...

    Be Afraid...Be Very Very Afraid

I was a 2-pack/day smoker of Marlboro Ultra Lights, which have .5mg of nicotine (which I assume is the estimated absorption amount). So I was getting about 20mg of nicotine a day as a smoker. When I first switched to my e-cig, I tried low strength liquid for a couple days, but it didn't cut it...

Any lingering side effects? [For people who have vaped at least one month]

This poll seems to be turning out about as I expected, but it would be nice to get some more voters in here. So I'm basically just bumping it up ;)

Should the Current Health Care Reform bill be signed into law.

This healthcare bill didn't actually address the real issue: cost. Does anyone know anyone who doesn't think they pay too much for healthcare? That's not going to change unless you're a middle class family of at least four that doesn't earn much. Then you'll get a new tax credit to help with...

    Noob questions about snus

I used a snus again this evening (only the second one I've used so far) and once again, it completely relaxed me. I'm actually a little puzzled about that because even though I know I got some calming effects from smoking, I never felt this good from a cigarette. Snus just plain rocks. I saw...

Should the Current Health Care Reform bill be signed into law.

Or you could end up like many of us and pay 30% of your income in federal and state taxes and pay for healthcare on top of that. And, of course, also pay state sales tax on everything you buy. :p It's because the federal government will be requiring people to buy health insurance. There's no...

Should the Current Health Care Reform bill be signed into law.

Yes, but I don't think that part of it goes into effect until 2014. At that point, everyone would have to have health insurance or you'd get fined. There's no such thing as free health care. Even in Canada you're paying for it in taxes.

    Social Security and Medicare

In an ideal world, I think seniors would be taken care of by their own families and/or neighborhoods and we wouldn't need government to do it. But families spread out (and not everyone even has family) and neighborhoods are often more like groups of people living in close proximity than they are...

    Vaping for weight loss?!!

I don't think any of us wants to encourage someone to start up a habit, even without nicotine. There's always the possibility you'd enjoy vaping so much that you'd be curious what the nic juice tastes like and then find yourself creating an addiction cycle all over again. So be cautious about it...

    Noob questions about snus

I tried a snus (General Mini Mint). Um... Wow. It's amazing. This isn't at all what I expected from snus and I'm so pleasantly surprised. I'm (dare I say it?) relaxed. This may be the first time since I quit smoking that I actually feel totally relaxed. That can't be from getting extra...

Should the Current Health Care Reform bill be signed into law.

We really need healthcare reform, but this bill didn't look like much in the way of reform. The system isn't changing at all; we're just forcing insurers to cover more people, forcing people who dont' have coverage to get coverage and forcing some people to pay for other people's coverage...

    Million Vaper March?

No one would really have to travel to participate. The idea would be to do them in various cities. The success would be whether or not there are enough vapers in any particular area that would show up to get any attention. I've never participated in any kind of flash mob before, but it always...

    Million Vaper March?

I don't see a massive rally in DC happening, but what about planning some some vaping flash mobs?

Expect a new tax on analogs after total ecig ban!

I read in another thread that the PACT Act wouldn't apply since that pertains only to products that contain tobacco leaves. I haven't read the act myself, though. I'm just paraphrasing what someone else posted who has read it. The whole reason I started buying my e-liquid from Johnson Creek...
