Chinese liquid producer shut down by Chinese government?

An interesting message from the Cain Campaign!

Oh, great analysis. I didn't even think of that! How do you get more coverage without spending money? You do something controversial. Clever indeed. It's a risky move, though. There could be a backlash since smoking has become so taboo. I guess they gambled that the bulk of people who might find...

Bon Secours going nicotine free for new hires November 30

Because of the unemployment rate, this is also a time when companies have the luxury of dictating the personal lives of potential employees. People need jobs, so employers can be picky. When the pendulum swings the other way and job seekers can afford to be picky, companies who've adopted this...

Travel and Vaping Vaping at DragonCon

I'm always paranoid I'll get hassled and embarrass my husband and friends (none of whom smoke or vape). I'm just not that gutsy unless I see another vaper (and even in the madness at the Marriott I never saw a single one!). Last year, I did encounter one other vaper at the Hilton bar and then I...

    What's That Noise?

A couple things come to mind: - You said you didn't notice the whistle until after the switch. You mean the switch from 100% PG to 75/25 PG/VG? If so, switch back and see if the whistle goes away within a few days. VG produces a thicker vapor and could be the culprit. - Since this happens...

Does nicotine in eciggs stain teeth ?

Same here. I get my teeth cleaned every 6 months and there's been nothing notable since I started vaping.

    Insulin Resistance and NRTs

What I was getting at is let's say we vape a low level of nicotine forever but have a healthier diet than someone else who uses no nicotine. Our insulin resistance might be comparable. That doesn't mean it's okay, but it's also not doom. The eventual result probably rests more in the totality of...

    Insulin Resistance and NRTs

That's informative, but not alarming. Can't long term use of cheeseburgers and fries also cause insulin resistance? :D We'll no doubt see more studies done on this now, but I'm sure it's about moderation. Long term use of higher levels of nicotine combined with less-than-optimal lifestyle is...

Feeling Strange and Major Panic Attacks

It's probably a little of both (the nic level you're vaping and the detox from smoking). I think what happens is that we actually end up upping our nic intake initially to help counteract the analog detox. Then as our bodies start to adjust to not getting all the chemicals from cigarettes, we no...

The impulse to vape vs the impulse to smoke.

I kind of feel like my habit has grown stronger while my addiction has grown weaker. I rely heavily on my ecig (the thing rarely leaves my hand), but when I'm in a situation where I can't vape, it doesn't affect me nearly as much as when I was a smoker and was in a situation where I couldn't smoke.

ECF you very well may have saved a life.

That was a beautiful post and I share your sentiments completely.

    I found this relevant

I think the PV market will eventually expand into appetite suppression. How may times have people on this forum commented about vaping tasty dessert flavors instead eating tasty desserts? I've seen it plenty, so it must work well for some. Adding in the nicotine could make it an effective tool...

Propylene Glycol - I'm worried! (link)

Here's some more info you might find helpful about propylene glycol: Propylene Glycol : All about propylene glycol ^ That's by the maker of it, but even if you assume that might be biased towards presenting PG as safer than it is, some of info they present speaks for itself... - It's been in...

DOT Proposed Rule: No E-Cigs on Planes

Even if ecig usage was officially banned on flights, I'm sure we'd still be able to carry them on. Cigarettes have been banned on planes for a long time, but people are allowed to bring them on board (matches and lighters are allowed too).

    Hair Loss Related

Rogaine uses PG, so you can certainly rule that out a hair loss suspect. No idea about VG, but it seems an unlikely culprit. Since nicotine constricts blood vessels, I suppose it's possible that it could affect hair follicles by reducing blood flow to the scalp. But I'd think it would have to be...

    Just started Vaping yesterday

I vote withdrawal too. Stopping smoking can drop an unbelievable amount of weird aches and pains and muscles tension on you. You might even be tensing up or clenching your hands in your sleep.

    Two years and counting!

Thanks for the congratulations everyone. It was definitely a rough road for me for the first few months, but I'm so glad I'm writing this two years later as a contented non-smoker. If it wasn't for the ecig and this awesome forum, I don't think I could've done it, I really don't. Huffelpuff -...

    Two years and counting!

I'm a bit late in posting this, but two days ago was my two-year anniversary of quitting smoking :) Although I quit smoking all at once by using an ecig, it wasn't an easy process for me. I'd documented some of what I went through on my blog and I was just rereading it... I'm so glad that's all...
