FDA No more free samples? Well...

Yeah, after I opened thread, I remembered that one of my local B&Ms uses 0-nic in samplers. However, I still plan to include my opposition to this in my comment to FDA. (All of the sampling restrictions, not just this one.)

FDA No more free samples? Well...

Just found this in a Boston Globe article: FDA e-cigarette plan brings complaints from both sides - Metro - The Boston Globe This is the first time I, at least, have seen this confirmed by someone from FDA. It seems to me that all that's required to continue in-store sampling is to charge for...

FDA ANOTHER Petition for the FDA

Andria, look at the upper right corner of your twitter page. It should look like this: If you click on the far right box (w/ feather, "Compose New Tweet"), you'll get a screen like this: Enter text in box, hit "tweet" button, and you're a tweeter... Hope this helps.

Could we have a banner for the FDA Deeming Regulations, pls?

...with a link to the new "FDA Regulations" forum. I think this is important enough for a banner announcement.

Jacob Sullum: CDC Director Says Switching from Smoking to Vaping is a 'Misconception"

Another gem from Sullum's Hit & Run blog on Reason.com: CDC Director Says Switching From Smoking to Vaping Is a 'Misconception' - Hit & Run : Reason.com Doesn't tell us anything we don't already know, but he makes some good points, and do read the comments. Some of them are truly hysterical...

I have been selected for an FDA e-cig study

Commenting on LaraC post (I echo Kent's sentiments!): Notice how with only one exception (page 21) every statement quoted is either conditional ("could" "may" "can") or conjectural. I suspect even the page 21 statement would qualify if quote were extended.

FDA In Answer to the "What do I do now" Question

I've scanned the deems once, and after my blood pressure settled back into acceptable range, I'm reformatting to print out w/ fewer pages, will read again, then re-read w/ highlighter, make notes, check out all the references not behind a paywall, read all the recommendations from CASAA et al...

FDA In Answer to the "What do I do now" Question

I suspect that unless these conflicting statements are resolved in the final rule, such conflicts will only be resolved in the courts after the fact.

    FDA FDA deeming regulation proposals

As I understand it, Conley has resigned from the CASAA board. Phil Busardo's headline is unfortunate, therefore. Conley is currently president of the American Vaping Assn.: The American Vaping Association

FDA In Answer to the "What do I do now" Question

The comment site is up, but please, as Myrany suggests, sit back, have a vape, do your research, and take your time formulating your comment. (Remember, each individual/entity/group can comment only once.) Start here: CASAA: CASAA Assessment of FDA Deeming Regulation, April 25, 2014 then...

    FDA FDA deeming regulation proposals

Two comments we all need to read, from CASAA today, and Greg Conley: CASAA: CASAA Assessment of FDA Deeming Regulation, April 25, 2014 Taste Your Juice | A SUGGESTION FROM CASAA’S LAWYER, GREG CONLEY… Also, the FDA docket for comments is open, but remember, you are only allowed *one* comment...

I have been selected for an FDA e-cig study

Excellent, Crumpet. Thanks for the update. I found this interesting and worth of further thought: Could one extrapolate from these numbers that only one out of 12 ecig users use them exclusively; or conversely, that 11 out of 12 are "dual users"? Or is this proportionality an indication...

    FDA Proposed regulation is available

I absolutely agree! It could have been much much worse. I'm not sure alot of small manufacturers would agree with you... What about all the current smokers out there who haven't switched yet? What about current vapers who aren't even aware or up-to-date on what's happening? I have two...

    FDA Proposed regulation is available

Never underestimate the forces that drive fanaticism and ideology. (I think we're all agreed that FDA is *not* producing science-based regulations, aren't we?)

    FDA Proposed regulation is available

Maybe I don't have *enough* faith, but let's skip to the bottom line: Having to comply w/ proposed FDA regulations will most probably drive many small manufacturers out of business. The same result would obtain if FDA were to include "components" in certain circumstances as tobacco products and...

    FDA Proposed regulation is available

As Hamburg said at the press briefing yesterday, these proposed regulations "are foundational." And: Will have to check the Deemings to see how FDA defines "components," "parts," and "accessories." Do NOT assume that you and FDA are defining them in the same way.

    FDA Proposed regulation is available

I'm going to submit that your AP contact isn't fully informed on the application process and on how FDA tends to interpret "functionally the same." As an example, if a cigarette manufacturer changes to a different *glue* to apply to the paper surrounding a cigarette, it makes that cigarette a...

    FDA Proposed regulation is available

Greg Conley ("PlaceboEffect" on ECF) has been tweeting about the deemings as he reads the document. Here's a link to his twitter profile page w/ his tweets, which I believe anyone can access even if you're not on twitter: https://twitter.com/GregTHR

    FDA Proposed regulation is available

These are the details that contain the devil, IMO. The paperwork involved in submitting these applications is formidable, to say nothing of the person-hours involved at the manufacturer's level to prepare *each* application. And remember, *every* different flavor, at *every* different nic level...
