    Appearance is a perception thing, and one CAN change perception by education and information. It does not follow logically that if smoking is believed to be bad and a visible exhalation is a sign that someone is smoking, therefore *any* visible exhalation is bad even if the source is different.

    I don't go the beach very much, but I've been wondering the same thing as you: It's usually, if not always, quite breezy on a beach. Seems to me vapor will dissipate so quickly in a breeze that no one would see it (unless, of course, they're hawk-eyed ANTZ on the prowl for transgressors...)
