    Simplicity + Mini B. Both Atty and Mod are 16mm. Ba Gua is at 17mm, same diameter as Penelope, Arrow, AGT. The Chi sleek looks to be 16mm from pictures.

    Well, hot spots are essentially small shorts. Press the button long enough on a mech, and you'll probably just pop the coil first.

    Multimeter is helpful. You get a feel of what ohms your coil is supposed to read after awhile. If it reads 0, obviously don't fire it, you have a hard short. If it's alot lower than you're expecting, chances are your wick is not oxidized enough, and you'll have "hotspots" if you fire it. You can...

    Just wanted to share, the Simplicity does great with my 1.3Ω coil. The inline meter was reading around 3.85-3.9V with a fresh battery off the charger :)

    Yep redmadder is right. It's the Mini B by Doc Dave which is the longer of the two. The other, Mini Micro(?), has a shorter tank.

    Silica doesn't short to the coil, hence no hotspot. What you experienced was simply a dry hit. It's a side effect of using a dripper and a low resistance coil. Solution is just to drop some more juice in and enjoy! :)

    Looking at Todd's Video, there's a hole right by the posts, have you guys tried sticking an ss mesh down that hole? It'd wick from the looks of it since you got a second "breather" hole. Would make for a good small genny maybe. Just a thought.

    I open/close mine alot to put a fresh battery in whenever I go out. I visually check everytime. So far so good, but it's good to know I can send it back to have it liquid proofed.

    I've carried mine around everywhere. Yea, it picks up scratches and battle scars like no tomorrow, but it seems solid enough to withstand abuse. I have not dropped mine yet (knock on wood). One thing to look out for is if you have stuff that leaks on top, it might just seep between the seams...
