Been there done that. I used a small thin file and opened up the door groove at the bottom corner just like in your picture. -

kiwi, I've done that to about every Grand I've had. I traced around the spring plate with a dental pick then only removed the coating under the plate. Also tried soldered the spring to the spring base, the improvements were minimal with the solder. Someone with a 3D printer should make something...- Bob57

Hittin 8mg with a little apple pie flavoring, Chalice 3 @ .8 ohm. I have a box of flavorings and have tried many but always go back to the apple pie and have for a couple years.
