    Thanks for replying. If the 5v battery are the XL ones, then no. I have not had that expirence with those either. I don't use them often, my hubby does, but when I have that burnt taste thing didn't happen. The pass-thrus are convenient, and if you figure out a way to do a lowering voltage...
