    Yes you don't want to heat your heating wire. You're not melting it. Just heating it to a quick glow with a torch or flame. A dry burn puts far more stress on the wire then a quick torch. FDA BOC

    Aside from annealing, it removes any machine oil from the wire. I have and always will torch prior to wrapping. FDA BOC

    Honestly, it's my favorite mod and I wouldn't have known about it otherwise. Not a big fan of box style mechs simply because it's wasted space IMHO. Yet in the case of the orca it couldn't get any more compact with the design despite being a box. Lightweight, tiny, and hits like an effing train...

    If I were to do it clean slate, I'd go 18 gauge(maybe 16?) for the disc. I happened to have 20 gauge from a mistake. It's 24 gauge for the contacts. FDA BOC

    Solid silver, adjustable 510...DONE. The finished contacts are swappable between this and the Orcas so I can use the silver contacts in my next orca....just need more bottles now. Keeps posting pictures sideways. Annoying.... FDA BOC

    They're grub screws I got awhile ago from FDV. 3mm and 2.5mm I think. Partially drill out the 510 pin and used a 3mm tap by hand. Then drilled out the grub screw itself. Used a 1/16 bit on the bottom side to avoid the Allen threads. FDA BOC
