New customer with a few questions...

Yes, the output of the standard PV battery is 3.7 V, probably around 3.4/5 underload, although i haven't tested that particular config. If you get a USB device that outputs 4v it will put you at about what you get out of the protege, i say 4v, cause the adjustable output is usually in 1v...

New customer with a few questions...

The PT's aren't resisted at all, so the power output from the USB is what you are going to get out, just so happens that most output 5v, which puts your PT around 4.3V under load. If you get a power pack, or other USB device that outputs less, you would in turn get less power out. I haven't...

New customer with a few questions...

IRT #4, Steve did mention something like this in the "Honet questions" thread, here is what was written. "Flitz .... Excellent idea bud .... This leads me to a way of making a PT without needing a whole seperate device. I stumbled on, I believe Apostle's post, regarding a delrin USB insert for...

    Blank Cart Request and more

Its not bad, maybe just off of 801's, i would imagine the smaller atty's get hot too fast, haha. No blank carts from PS though, just drip man, its a ****e load better, a lot of people complain that its hard while driving, my fix to this is, move to DC. You will be in traffic so much, you have...

Will the Prodigy V2 use ProTEGE/PT adapters, or a new 3rd type of adapter?

Oh wait, you started this thread, was this a joke? Sorry i didn't get it, thats pretty funny though. Gibby

Will the Prodigy V2 use ProTEGE/PT adapters, or a new 3rd type of adapter?

This was referring to what PS was originally calling the Prodigy V2, it later became the Protege, thing of that reference to the V2 as the protege, and don't read anything else into it. The prodigy V2 has its own adapter, will not fit anything else that PS makes. V/R Byron

    When 5V really isn't 5V

Thanks buddy. You do realize though most modern mother boards can operate at about 160 degrees F, so i am not sure is just due to thermo dissipation, meaning sure it could be a factor, but not the deciding factor. Could it fry it sure, so if you want to reduce the chance of effing your MB...

Can we clear up the confusion with all these changes and new items?

I got an idea. See if Steve will make adapter adapters, so you can have a 801 prodigy v1 to prodigy v2 adapter and so on and so forth. You would of course have to make one for every combination, so unless i am wrong that would be 27 different adapters. Problem solved. edited to add...

Yeah you are right, there is a bit of risk there. Gibby

    Prodigy V2 Adapters

Okay, so i think the consensus is the following. There are 3 different size adapters, or soon will be 1. Prodigy V1 (alluminum) 2. Protege/USBpass (Alluminum or SS) 3. Prodigy V2 (SS only) Is that right? The confusion on the website is this. Prior to the release of the...

    When 5V really isn't 5V

My computer works fine with it, then again i have a stupid high end computer, with a ridiculous power supply, so that might have something to do with it. If your computer doesn't regulate output to its USB ports, then yeah you are gonna have issues. Gibby

A few questions about the new Prodigy...

Must be designed to use a smaller battery, and still run at 5 volts or so, not sure what he is gong to do yet, but he said it would be slightly bigger than the protege. Gibby

PURESMOKER STOCK STATUS UPDATES (Updated Daily)

Hey, i can't find anywhere the info on the wait for the new USB PT. I ordered one last night, just didn't know what the wait was. Needed to add some 901 atty's to it, if they were in before it shipped. thanks Gibby

Questions on Prodigy, USBpass, other mods

This was what was stated. Flitz .... Excellent idea bud .... This leads me to a way of making a PT without needing a whole seperate device. I stumbled on, I believe Apostle's post, regarding a delrin USB insert for Protege users. I have gone to the engineers to see if we can make this a reality...

Nah, he specifically mentioned it in a thread. He said he was going to talk to the engineers about it. Let me see if i can find it. Gibby

    Attn: Steve (Cashmere)

Hmm, maybe, i will give it a shot tomorrow, and let everyone know. It would give us 6v out of the protege, and i will always just at a chance to go to Best Buy. haha. Gibby.

    Attn: Steve (Cashmere)

Its not a switch that is holding anything up, its the battery, there currentely aren't many batteries that will fit the protege that will give you more than 3.7v. Maybe some special made not off the shelf batteries. Its not an engineering fix on Steve's side that is holding that up. Just my...

A few questions about the new Prodigy...

    1. No pics yet, but from what steve has said it will look similar to the protege, smaller then the prodigy, and 5-5.5v standard with a config that will support 3.7v. 2. i would imagine he would be using the same switch, though he hasn't stated, but i would imagine it would be the same. 3...

Questions on Prodigy, USBpass, other mods

The usb pass will look much like the protege i have a feeling, with a cord attached obviously. You can look at the protege on the website now. Get a USBpass for sure. and might even consider a battery pack as the output is unregulated, it may not be friendly to your computer usbport. Get a...

Protege! How do you carry it?

same here, although sometimes i feel like i just got shanked if i bend over or something the wrong way and forget its there. It works well for the most part though. Gibby
