This thing has been so iterative that there are really blurry lines between what people are calling v1, v2, v2.1... I've been here from the start and even I don't know. If you pushed him, I'll bet even Faceless wouldn't be able to give you a definitive answer. There was a prototype. There...
Looks like v2 to me, but I get lost in what folks call v1, v2, v2.1... I am looking at the tube it came in. I can tell you for sure that it's not one of the "Original 50".
That was a great deal. Known issues? Not really. Know that aluminum is a soft metal, so be aware of that when you lock and unlock the switch. Don't twist it too hard. There can be a gap if you are using a kick, but other than that, nothing. New switch should fit.
and let me add:
Thanks...
I have a meter very similar to that one. The first thing you need to do is "zero out" the ohm meter. Touch the two leads together. There should be a dial somewhere on the meter. Adjust that dial until the ohm scale reads zero. Use the RX10 scale in all cases, at least for our application...
That is the only annoyance I have with either GUS or PAPS. I can set my iHy's down without locking. Not so on those Greek tubes. Of course, I always had to lock your Caravela before I set it down, too.
Tickled to hear that. The one I have coming is brass, and I like brass!
I want to find someone who wants to swap SS ends for my brass ends. I think the two tone would be the shizzle.
