    Yes, you can use protected batts in the telescope without the kick. And no, any 18650 with a kick is too long for the telescope.

    I dont own a provari, but from my understanding, you should not use protected li-ion's in that device either. Most VV devices, including the kick, require high drain (IMR) batteries. If you are not sure, check with the manufactor.
