Need advice on 10440 batts please.

You should definitely not try to charge li-ion batteries like the 10440 in a regular battery recharger...it's the wrong chemistry. I don't have any experience with the passthroughs, but I would guess that you could use it as a makeshift charger, since what it is basically doing is charging the...

    Push Buttons

I've used the switch Mike linked to, and it's pretty solid. I've also used this one, but it's pretty big and stands up quite a bit from the mounting surface, so I only go with that when I'm using a switch on the top, right next to the atomizer.

They are connected in parallel. Each atomizer connection reads 4.2v with a fully charged battery, so I don't think voltage is reduced, but battery life certainly is.

    Radioshack > Batteries?

Why would you recommend that? I've done that several times now, with no problems. You end up with an unprotected 3.7v flat battery, and as long as your charger has protection, you shouldn't run into any problems. In fact, I've used the Lenmar PowerPort Mini charger and Digipower Jump Start...

    Reverse Laser Mod

That's a pretty cool idea, actually -- attach a laser or flashlight "atomizer" to the battery, either for stealth or extra utility. I think I'll put a laser module or two in my next order from DX.

    Mini Shotgun Mod

You could easily mount the button on the side, if you prefer, but I have made a few with the button on the top, and it feels much nicer to me.

    Laser Pointer mod Guide

As always, that depends on your usage. A single battery lasts me from the time I leave my house until nearly the end of the work day. If I'm just sitting around the house, it'll last a couple of hours. The 510 mega battery is rated 380mAh, I believe, and my 10440s are rated at 600mAh hours, so...

    Mini Shotgun Mod

According to my caliper, they're only 14mm apart. Big mouth not required.

    Mini Shotgun Mod

After my first dual atomizer mod didn't work as I'd hoped, I whipped up a smaller version, with the atomizers at a decent distance from each other. It runs off a single 10440, so you definitely need to have several batteries to get through a day, but I'm planning on adding in a USB charging circuit.

    Cheap $3 solderless mod

That's going to vary by the individual. I use high voltage every now and then, but I generally prefer 3.7v.

Shotgun mod in a neat case

Yeah, that tubing is definitely too small, but it gave me the idea to make a Y-shaped mouthpiece out of this stuff.

Hmm...good tip. I'll put some in my next order.

That looks sweet. Will these be part of the regular line-up?

    Can this battery be used?

I've used cell phone batteries, but I've just cracked open the plastic case, exposing the prismatic battery inside. Then I cut off the circuitry attached to the battery, and...boom...flat 3.7v li-ion. Check the battery's voltage before you use it, though, I had a bunch of old cell batteries, and...

Shotgun mod in a neat case

It's pretty nice. Vapor production actually isn't as huge as it might be, because I can't quite get a seal with my lips, so I'm also pulling in a lot of air. But it's nice and cool, with tons of flavor. That would definitely be a better solution. Hmmm...now I have to think about how on earth I...

Starting to think I have a problem....

Nice! Oh, and the whistle tips didn't do the trick, SmokinScott. The 510 whistle tips are just too big. Oh well, it was a great idea.

Shotgun mod in a neat case

From what I've read (on this forum, mostly), trying to charge multiple cells requires special equipment to avoid BAD THINGS...like overcharging or overdischarging the batteries. I don't have any experience or practical knowledge personally, though.

Starting to think I have a problem....

That's one of those brilliant ideas that is so simple and obvious in retrospect that it takes a genius to come up with it in the first place. I'll give it a shot when I get home. But let's get back on track! Anyone else have a photo of their mod collection?

Starting to think I have a problem....

The dual atomizer mod is working out just fine. The only problem is that the atomizers are just a bit too close, so I don't get a seal with my lips, meaning that I'm drawing in a lot of air. As for the switch, it's a regular SPST momentary. I just wired the batteries in parallel, and did the...
