There's enough of a demand to make the ego and (at least) three clones, and some of them have PWM circuits.
If you're one guy in a garage in the US, it's not feasible. If you're a Chinese factory that churns out 10-20K batches of electronic doodads all the time, it's a piece of cake. Walk...
I'm not going to read through 8 pages just to not learn anything. Unless it's mislabeled, a 900mAh battery will always outlast a 600mAh battery under the same load. Milliamp hours is a measurement of capacity. 600mAh-rated batteries hold less energy than 900mAh-rated batteries. High drain...
That's the only thread on the device on these forums. There isn't much else to say about it right now, since they're still in the prototype testing stages. It will be at least a couple months before they're ready to start selling them.
Switching power supplies are so ubiquitous these days...
I was going by Mouser's product page, which shows the LD29300P2M33R is 5V 5A with a control pin. According to the spec sheet, it appears Mouser is wrong. However, the Diodes AP1184 is available in a TO263 package which is only a hair wider than the D2PAK. I double checked the spec sheet...
High drain batteries will provide as much current as your LR attys demand, but they hold less energy than regular li-ions. They certainly won't help your longevity issue.
Yes, that's normal. At a constant voltage, lowering the resistance of the load will raise the current. More current means a hotter vape, but it obviously requires more power from the battery to produce it.
Viking vapor has such low prices on their small bottles that you can just make your own "sampler pack" from them. $3 for a 7.5ml bottle is the cheapest "sample" sized price around. I've tried a couple dozen of their flavors and now I just buy big bottles of the ones I like.
"4.2V" is a bit of a marketing trick. All li-ion cells provide 3.7V, but that's an average. At maximum charge they're at about 4.2V, but that quickly drops down to about 3.8V. They'll then slowly drop down as they're discharged to about 3.5V, at which point they'll start to drop quickly and...
Another afternoon at the bar, another handful of cards distributed. If I could be bothered to leave the house more frequently, I'd have half of NJ converted by now.
What specs are you looking at? They're pretty damn close.
The LD29300 part has a 1.5V dropout compared to 1.3 on the ON semi part, but it's also rated for 5A vs 3A for the ON. Both are 5V regs with 1% accuracy and control pins in almost identical packages. For mod purposes, they're...
As a potential replacement, consider the LD29300P2M33R from STMicro. The P2PAK package is approximately the same size as D2PAK.
For a really small regulator with control, try the LK112M50TR in SOT23.
Already did that, sort of. The 18550s are 3.7V each. I stick two of them in the extended cup on my indulgence and bring them down to 5V with a RIT. It works really well, but since I spend most of the day at a desk, the PT allows me to give the batteries a rest and not have to recharge them...
I'm well aware that PWM is a staple concept of EE. I also know that standard ecig batteries like the 510 battery and the ego use PWM to drop battery voltage down from 3.7V to 3.2V. But for whatever reason, it is not generally considered as a method for regulating effective mod voltage. As mod...
Doing 5V isn't hard. Doing 5V right is. It is really easy to add a resistor or regulator to a mod, but the smart way to do 5V is with PWM. PWM will lessens the strain on the batteries and doesn't waste extra voltage as heat. The Pulse is the only device in the works that uses PWM, though I'm...
I've bought battery boxes from a few suppliers, and they've all been pretty chintzy. They're fine for quick nicostick mods, but I want to make a nice 3xAA 5V mod with a TI booster board and USB charging. Since I'm putting a decent amount of money into the parts, I'd like to have a decent...
What an awesome combo. The 5V PT is excellent, and the 2A power supply runs it like a champ. Best $25 vaping investment I've made so far. I can finally give the pair of 18350s I've been using in my Indulgence a rest.
The "Q" 510 disposable from madvapes really is best cheap kit around. Spend an extra $5 and get a 10ml bottle of juice to go with it. The juice in the carts that comes with the kit won't last long, and isn't really the best quality. Get a flavor you think you'll enjoy and refill the carts...
