I've never opened an 18650 but to my knowledge that's not how they're constructed. Rather, it's anode and cathode layers with separator sheets between...
Sorry to contradict, but this isn't true. The wattage determines the amp draw, and therefore battery life, on a regulated mod. The resistance doesn't matter.

It's not the best of ideas to charge the Predator through the usb anyway. It gets really hot, and doesn't balance charge properly. In fact, many multiple-battery mods still don't have proper balance charging.

"Sub ohm" really doesn't mean much in the age of regulated mods and tc. Yes, all my coils are technically sub ohm, but that's because I use stainless steel wire which has lower resistance per inch than kanthal. I MTL vape, even though I use sub ohm coils.

All tc mods do step down, they have to in order to function properly. You'd be hard pressed to find a modern regulated mod that doesn't do good step down.

We have Finnish and Swedish hip hop. That's just plain wrong, on so many levels. No way country hip hop could be worse.

Lower wattage and it'll take a longer time to reach the set temperature, higher wattage and you'll reach the set temperature faster.

Indeed! Colour me surprised! I installed the new firmware and it does indeed seem to work a lot better, though I increased the tcr to 0.00095 (ss316l coil in an Obs Engine Nano). Will try do a dry cotton test when I have time. Thanks!

That you can't simply check the label to know the chemistry, that IMRs are actually rare, and that there's not much of a difference in safety between IMRs and good hybrid batteries (no problem using cells such as the Samsung 25r in mechs, and the Sony vtc5a is in fact one of the best batteries...
That would simply be the model identifier. Hybrids commonly are the best of both worlds, a balance of high drain and high capacity. The Samsung 25r and Sony vtc5 are lithium manganese nickel, LG hb6 are lithium manganese oxide (IMR).

I know what IMR chemistry is. I was asking which batteries used today are actually IMR. Pretty much all of the popular batteries today are hybrid chemistry (pretty much as safe as IMR, won't vent as violently as ICRs), although it's very common for rewraps to include "IMR" on the wrapper...
I wouldn't be so sure those are actually IMRs. The Efests certainly aren't (they're rewraps, not of IMR batteries). It's very common for rewrappers to use "IMR" on their cells although they're nothing of the sort.

No need to have that exact resistance on the RBA heads. But, RBA heads or not, Smok still doesn't offer any prebuilt ss coil heads.
