Next time you're at the grocery store pick up something called cheese cloth. It's cheap and 100% food grade cotton. Also it comes in loose threaded sheets so you can make whatever size wick you wish, and that means you can measure it with a ruler or thread count (so you can repeat it).
As long...
I didn't like the air intake pin holes that were too small no matter of wick size, and both of my tanks would whistle. So I bored the holes about 10 times wider and no more whistle. Hits much smoother and I don't have to power suck the vapor out anymore. I used a diamond burr and my proxxen...
Simple mod for converting your Vision vivi nova or mini nova to cotton. Making enough room for the cotton to fully expand, a tight coil will not choke your wick. The clean taste is well worth the effort.
I made some measurements for the most important aspects of converting to cotton so anyone can repeat it.
Just the other day I put a brand new atomizer head (silica wick) and it tasted horrible. Cotton is the most finicky wick to learn to make, but the clean and great flavor is more than worth...
Yeah even with different variables, a 2000 mah battery in its prime should last at least 10-12 hours or longer. How old is the battery? What model, make? Have you been leaving it on the charger even after it's charged? (not good) The more we know the more we can help.
I get about several hours off my 1000mah ego twist with 1.7-1.9 ohm coils. I would say something is wrong if your 2000mah battery lasts only an hour and a half.
Everything I have seen so far it seems that silver solder is what I have seen safe to use for vaping electronics. Got to be careful with solder as some can contain lead.
About 4mm in diameter for a dry 2mm cotton cheese cloth wick. Also make sure you don't drill/grind the original slot any deeper ( If you do it makes the coil closer to the grommets). I used my proxxen rotary tool (like a dremel).
Been vaping on it for a full day and yet no discoloration from...
I tried every combination possible, loose coil, tight coil, tiny wick. My epiphany came when I realized my coils with larger spaces between wraps gave me the singed cotton flavor and my tight compact coil tasted clean. After drilling the slot wider so they can't choke the wick the coil choking...
Now that I have found the best way for me to recoil with kanthal/cotton and it's repeatable I figured I would share. I'm using A-1 33 gauge kanthal, and cheese cloth that I boiled just to make it extra clean. This coil came out 1.9 ohms with the legs double twisted for no grommet burn. The main...
Something I'm starting to do today is keep a wick/coil log of measurements so when I make something that preforms well I can repeat it. Like measurement and thread count of the cheese cloth used. A 1-10 number system on tightness of coils wrapped and how much space between each wrap. I don't...
I had been having the same problems as you with a slight singed cotton taste.
I took my rotary tool and ground the slot wider and a hole shape at the base of the slot on my vivi mini nova. Wrapped 5 tight wraps around my 2mm cotton cheese cloth wick for a 1.8 ohm coil. Then I wrapped a really...
Great work gdeal, just the type of mods I was asking to see. I see it looks like you ran your negative wire up and around the outside? Great idea since it would be hard to keep both legs from touching running both straight down on a vertical setup. I also like the idea of your setup for wick...
Are there any tricks or mods other than using non-resistance wire so the rubber grommet doesn't burn?
I took my proxxon rotary tool and bored the wick slot a little wider then bored a hole shape at the bottom, wrapped a 1.8 ohm 5 wrap coil 33g kanthal and no more burnt cotton flavor. Cheese...
