    Same basic method I use, except with a needle. I use metal so I can pull the coil tighter and is easier to slide out.

    Make smaller coils and thinner wicks. It's better to drill the bottom of the slot wider to accomidate for larger wicks than to mess with the top hat. Your coil and wick should be the same width as your slots either way.

    The non resistance wire we are welding is silver or pure nickel. Kanthal is an alloy of iron, chromium, and aluminium. Nichrome is an alloy of nickle, chromium, and iron.

    Ditto, it all depends on your patience lol. An hour really is a minimum soak time so you don't burn through the wick. Cotton fibers are like really tiny ribbons that are hollow inside. It takes some time for those little ribbon shaped straws to fill with juice so they don't burn.

    Oh a vaper and a straight shaver. It expensive buying all those hones and then razors huh lol. Don't worry we both must have acquisition disorders lol. I call it a learning disorder, because I'm always trying to learn how to make things if they're straight razors, wire welders or vv mods.

    You are right, the darker the juice the faster it gunks up. My super dark juice needs a fresh wick about twice a week, but almost completely clear juices can last 1-2 weeks. I'm a big carmel, vanilla, tobacco lover too and they gunk up so quick it's crazy.

    The cotton wools like the rounds/pads are way easier to learn simply because they're more quickly absorbant. The weeved cottons like yarn, rope, cloth can be a little tricky to figure out the quirks. I have noticed the tighter weeved cotton materials are trickiest because they take a lot longer...

    Something I would like to experiment more with is cotton hybrid wicks. Not cotton/ss mesh but different types of cotton. I tried it only once before with a cotton wool core and cheese cloth outer shell. I'm sure it's just extra work but might be something fun to try.
