I now use my cotton rounds exclusively. They're the strongest of the cotton wools, easiest to work with, have the least leaking problems out of all other cottons I've tried, and the most forgiving because of their absorbency.
This is the best wick setup I have made with my drunker tank. Small coil the width of the slots, 4 wraps side by side with 33 awg kanthal. I have the main cotton round wick threaded through the coil leading down diagonally through wick holes. Then 2 seperate wicks for the remaining wick holes in...
Here is the thread I was talking about about cleaning your tanks if anyone wants to read. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/general-e-smoking-discussion/334183-coincidence-not-you-decide.html
None yet, the legs are longer wich helps. In the process of building a wire welder, my favorite awg is 33 and the legs alone takes up an inch of wire. No singe marks on the rubber grommet yet though.
Haven't received my LM's yet but since the voltage adjustment is by turning a screw I am wondering if it would be possible to connect a larger dial up to it.
Well it made me realize how careful we need to be with the original ceramic cups in our drunker tanks because ceramic is pretty delicate. Thanks for sending them to me to play with. I feel better knowing I have a backup cup for my drunker.
Stopped by walgreens and picked up 2 Fujifilm disposables, I got the outer shell apart. I pulled out the flash circuit and to make sure the cap wouldn't zap me I touch my pocket knife to both leads on the cap and the spark scared the crap out of me. lol
Silica is safe to us humans in every way unless you inhale it, which ironically might be what we're doing. Another 50 years of research will be needed to find out any long term effects really. Cotton is the flavor for me though anyways.
I tried the spin-e coil in my drunker today, still needs some tweeks to get it working right. I did find that the ce2 ceramic cups can fit into the drunker (with help from JD). They do sit a bit higher but definitely are interchangeable. Thank you JD for sending me those, I broke one but got the...
Well the no cup setup tastes bad lol. I think I messed with the air flow a bit, also didn't wrap my coil wraps close enough so time to rebuild today again.
I started having a slight dry hit every once in a while (because I'm a chain vaper) so I decided to try a thicker wick but when it comes to cups you can't make the coil bigger than the slots or else things get choked. So I just got done installing a larger coil without the ceramic cup in and the...
Yeah heating the wire before hand with a lighter tempers the steel so it's more malleable so it holds it's shape. Adeline is correct on removing machine oils during manufacturing. Also if you are using stainless steel mesh, oxidizing the coil makes it a lot easier to prevent short circuits. Also...
Love the thread, even though I have not read through it all. I just bought a couple LM2596's with voltmeters and can't wait to start my builds.
What gauge/awg wire is ideal? I know gauge and awg are different measurements.
I noticed that too, all of the sludge that normally collects on a wick seems less in the drunker and what does collect is contained away from the juice. I've been vaping on mine for a week and none of it has got into the tank.
I just placed a couple orders as I'm going to be building some vv...
You can vape cotton after a 3 hours of soak time but longer is better. I would recommend cotton wools like cotton balls or rounds for anyone starting to rebuild with cotton because they are the most forgiving...
