    PDIB's Making MODs!

I think he wrote Olive R on a piece of paper (olive wood regular maybe?), and his daughter asked him what an Oliver was and he thought it was cute, and thought it would be a good name. Many of us didn't like it as much as 'dibby', so he said we could call it a 'dibi' (for his Hungarian roots)...

Oooh! Was that the wood you sent in Dennis? That top pix looks like a topo map of Florida's East coast w/ the little islands:)! Fantastic! I still think the black richlite borders look more interesting... but is yours a bit shorter than the other 2, or are the black borders having a visual...

    [CLOSED BUSINESS]

I don't know how the older Cruisers were... but I LOVE LOVE LOVE the very faint finger/palm grips on the 26650. It's something that few other mod makers will take the time to do, and make yours even more special (and more tactile). Just for that alone, I spend as much time vaping the 26650 as I...

I don't mind where they come from, but please make them so they are replaceable if they break... durability is the issue with electronics:).

    [CLOSED BUSINESS]

Wow... that's stunning:)! I have a 26650 BF Cruiser, and it IS big, but that's due to the battery size. However, considering the battery size... the weight is astoundingly light, it's barely heavier than my 18650 woodvil. However, that huge 26650 battery isn't giving substantially better...

    PDIB's Making MODs!

Oh NO monkey!!! I think it was turbo (??) who suggested gluing a penny to that bottom section of the wood part to help reinforce it? Or some type of short aluminum tube (possibly aluminum cigar tube?). Would that help? I'm pretty sure that unless I throw mine at concrete it won't break (big...

    PDIB's Making MODs!

Oh no:(... with the black richlite, I'm surprised to see that the wood still cracked when dropped on the carpet. Haven't dropped mine yet, but I don't think it would crack because I have no vertical grain anywhere on mine. I think swirly burls may be tougher there for that reason?

    PDIB's Making MODs!

No... they are made to look like mokume gane:). Ahhh...I am mistaken, it's the GUARD part of the samurai sword, NOT the blade part, which is not called mokume gane!! And yes, it is the attempt to make metal have wood patterns. Been a long time since I looked at that stuff:). Sorry, had to...

Ahhh... I could tell they were tools for something, just not what... woodworking! That's pretty neat:). You made those?

    PDIB's Making MODs!

Well, that knife actually may be Damascus steel, they look real similar these days. I think the difference is that Mokume Gane is forged for sharpness and strength, and made with a hammering/heating technique while damascus (middle eastern lost art) was forged for the carbon's ability to flex...
