I thought about using a stepped bit, but was worried that it would wander off center since there is only one cutting tooth.
Wound up using a 22mm hole saw to get a consistent cutting pattern, and there was some box hardware that had to be cut too.
The tricky part was that the internal depth...
I'm using Envirotex by Environmental Technology Jewelry Resin | Shop Hobby Lobby, and the third time was a charm.
You have to be exact with the mixing ratio, and use a plastic jewelry mold as a form for the back side of the window (resin wont bond to the plastic but bonds to EVERYTHING else)...
First ecig was a manual 510 cig alike in 2009, built my first mod with a madvapes vv board year and a half ago, now all I vape is evolv gear (DNA20, Kick)
Thanks man. The DNA 20 is a cool little board to play with and works very well in alot of applications. The stealth mods provide alot of power in a tiny package, I'm a little too clumsy to put one together, much less keep track of it though. I've lucked out and havent broken a screen building...
That mod was a beast to build and is solid as a rock. the internal depth of the box is 21mm so the hole for the tank actually cuts into the sidewalls 0.5mm on both sides, very dificult for me to drill... my one in a million
this is my 2nd DNA 20 build, and im starting my third. I used a Hammond 1590G diecast box that i hand filed to square, and bolted in an aluminum angle partition. Another member fabricated a bolt in SS 510 connection that made the mod possible. made the window for the screen and dot for the usb...
Hey OCD, think I remember mention of a 22mm tank in the works but still a ways off, is that still going on?
just finished a mod that can take a recessed 22mm tank and yours are the only carto tanks ill buy now.
5 pack of cartos, silica wick, few Oz's of TFA flavoring, li-po batteries from hong kong, panasonic 18650, phoenix clone, another DNA 20..
think Im done for a while
My wifes policy is offered at a great price, but if you fail to go in for an annual checkup ($0 co-pay) your annual rate increases. There is no factoring according to patient health, you just have to go in for an annual
I think thats a good approach to promoting basic health, not penalizing...
+1 for Hype, bobas bounty is amazing too(try to let it steep for a month if you can). They where my only juice vendor for a while, and great folks to deal with. well worth the wait
round 2 with the jewelry resin is a failure so far.
let it cure for 24 hours and it still a little rubbery, think the base/hardner ratio was off by a little.
going kayaking today so I'm gonna let it sit in the window sill and see what happens, if it doesn't cure I'll use pipettes to measure...
I get mine at http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/1590G/HM841-ND/409858 they have painted ones too, but the sides have a slight angle to them so I like to file them to square. Not completely necessary though.
The door can be a pain to work with as far as cutting out the window is...
first attempt at the casting resin window was a failure, all my fault though. I decided to mess with the drying product this morning after it had only cured for 5 hours (12 hours soft cure, 24 hours full cure).
good thing is its completly clear and bubble free
on to attempt 2
thats a really good idea with the window on the side, but im not gonna mess with the wiring to mount the LEDs. Took a while to position all of the wires and work the soldered connections into place to keep it a little organized.
thanks guys
im gonna keep my eyes peeled for a spacer that fits, that would help finish it.
I was thinking about cutting a slit to see juice levels, but it wouldnt be in line with the screen and i think it would throw off the look. I might do a few tapped holes though
Another Hammond 1590G. Been planning this one since I finished my first one. Wouldn't have gotten it done without some great ideas and sourcing help from a fellow vaper .
Still have to set the window, gonna use jewelry resin, and glue in a screw head. Hand filed the sides square. Dont really...
