    No, they are not. Ego twists have a knob built into the bottom that you can use to adjust the voltage. Regular joyetech ego's run regulated at 3.3 volts.     Generally, it should last longer, but it's not unusual for it to die earlier than normal. It happens. Were you dry burning it to clean it? That can make kill the coil if you let it get too hot.
