No, a CE4 is a top coil clearomizer and an EVOD is a bottom coil clearomizer.
A cartomizer is a 9.2 mm diameter typically metal tube, typically either 35 or 45 mm long not including the male connector on a 510 (KR808D-1 cartos use a female connector), that may be wrapped in colored and/or...
Seriously, if you're this excited about the Sophia with silica, I better put a blast shield over my monitor before reading your review of a successful cotton wicked micro coil in it. :D Best wishes for that!
What I can't understand is why vapers post threads like this disparagingly questioning other vapers' choices of vaping gear or methodology. Just sayin'.
The Vivi Nova clearomizer is a "top coil clearomizer" in which the atomizer (coil/wick) is at the top of the air tube and depends on wicking the liquid up against gravity (like a top-coil Genesis Rebuildable Atomizer). This is as opposed to a bottom coil clearomizer such as the EVOD and ProTank...
The mouthpiece should be the only part that unscrews and you shouldn't need a vice for that. At most, I'd use a couple of those rubber-like grippers used for opening jar lids/bottle tops.
It isn't a carto as in your subject... it's a clearomizer as in your message, and it looks like a CE4 "Stardust" type that doesn't have a replaceable atomizer (disposable type).
Unscrew the mouthpiece, tilt it slightly off vertical, and drop the e-liquid along side the air tube.
Whether refilling using a tank tool, The Nail, or even just sliding the tank up so the top end cap's above an STR drip tip and leaning it over, I'd close the juice flow control before doing so. That's easier on the lower end cap inner o-ring. Remember the bottom of the main tube is sharp for...
Pay VERY careful attention to what Batitude and molimelight have to say about BT. I like this, "Make no mistake, job one at BT is addiction." It doesn't matter to them how many carcinogenic compounds they have to use to achieve it.
That's what will be in their "safe for the kids," sealed...
Let me expand this history a bit.
Three things evolved from the original battery, atomizer, and cartridge three-piece e-cigarette (i.e. the Joyetech 510). As said, the atomizer and cartridge filler were combined into a cartomizer, resulting in a two-piece e-cigarette. The OEM also replaced the...
I install Sophias (and cartos) into carto tanks 510 connector end first. In fact, Sophia 2 replaced a carto in a full tank by putting its 510 in the drip tip end of the carto, pushing it down past the first o-ring, flipping the tank over and pushing it up until the carto popped out the top and...
Let me second the STRs! As Yankee said, you need at least a 10mm (STR10) to keep a 45 mm tank sealed while you slide it up to remove the base. It also needs to grip the main tube well since you're using the drip tip to turn the juice flow control. I like the STR 15 for a 45 mm tank.
With a 35...
Chief, what we have here is a failure to communicate. :)
Yes, if you push an open drip tip end of either a carto or a Sophia past an o-ring, you can damage it. So you don't do that.
If the carto is unflanged like a Sophia, you can always push it past an o-ring, 510 connector end first--no...
