    Cold maceration of tobacco

Filtration is the most critical part of tobacco extraction without a doubt. No hard and fast rules here, just experimentation to get a flavorful, good performing result. There are several methods of extraction that work and each has it's own discussion thread here.

    Cold maceration of tobacco

Looks like everything went well Claire. Extract and juice will definitely benefit from steeping, with flavor nuances coming forward over several weeks for some tobaccos. The number of good tobacco blends is huge! I've been lucky to have extracted almost all winners with some studying and...

    Natural Tobaccos - Part Deux

Juicy, I found Hey Jack easily vapeable but too subtle to be really interesting. I think it would make a good first NET for a newbie, but it isn't going to rock your boat.

    Natural Tobaccos - Part Deux

Jerms, your excellent reviews and thoughts on juices have always been a great help in NET selection (and avoidance). Whether you liked it or not, I get a pretty good sense if it's for me. When I found this thread, we were all trying so many juices, I got in the habit of switching flavors...

    Natural Tobaccos - Part Deux

Amen! I pretty much skip tweaking, frankenjuicing, flavoring, etc. Give me good, solid tobacco blends, from a skilled tobacconist, natural and flavorful!

    Pipe tobacco and Cigar extraction

I know there are people looking for a cheap French press because of you! A big part of the fun in home extracting has been making some damn good juice with very little financial investment. I tend to keep my expectations low so most surprises are happy ones.

    Cold maceration of tobacco

If you have PG just covering the tobacco, I doubt you'll have to add any more to accomplish filtration. You will have to press the tobacco to get most of the PG out of it. I do that with a small mesh strainer and a spoon. It will be interesting to see how your experiment turns out.

    Pipe tobacco and Cigar extraction

Bill, your first batch of cigar extracts are absolutely great! If it works out, you may have to patent the one step filtration. After a little steep, I'll try out your last batch.

    Cold maceration of tobacco

Maurice, sounds like your tobacco was very dry prior to submersion allowing it to soak up a good amount of PG. It will be interesting to see what your yield is. Good luck!

    Natural Tobaccos - Part Deux

Sampling Halo for the first time today (Thanks checkum!). Fired up Captain Jack and was enjoying the nic buzz (18 mg) when my wife came through and told me I'd have to vape it outside! It's an interesting, very flavorful artibacco and I can see why J likes it as well as why my boss doesn't...

    Cold maceration of tobacco

With home extraction, failures don't cost much, and if well done, an extraction not to your taste is definitely trade material. Our hobby certainly seems to be drawing new people daily and many are doing some great work. I've been lucky enough to sample stuff from three guys that ended up...

    Cold maceration of tobacco

I use that site often. Funny thing is, I have tried some highly rated blends that were meh and found some 2 star hits! Some blends translate to vape better than others and tastes differ (yahda, yahda). I love reading blend reviews by some of the older, hard core pipe smokers.

Don't buy the sticks then, get it in bulk. Much less temptation there and you've got stuff to keep you happy while you find a good deal on it locally or online.

    Cold maceration of tobacco

Ian, that's a great list!:thumb: I like Perique straight up or in blends. It is intense for some but you can always blend if not your thing. Straight Latakia, while vapeable in small amounts, for me is far better in blends. Glad you got sourcing some good blends sorted out.

    Cold maceration of tobacco

Hi Stra8, welcome. I recently extracted Hearth and Home Signature Virginia Spice, a Virginia/Perique blend with Maduro cigar leaf. It adds a subtle bass note, spiciness, and creaminess and I love it! Full bodied pipe blends translate well into a vape in my experience. Strong English...

Only you can answer that! You're well stocked with Am Spirit extract, have more tobaccos soaking, and the station will likely have stock in the future. On the other hand, if it makes your mouth water thinking about it, get some and start the soak right away!:D
