e-cigarette tv ad giving a bad image to considerate vapers?

    I hadn't seen that one! It's a riot. I really love it. I know that's wrong. I know all the reasons it's wrong. I'm sorry. :) :)

    Can you believe this _________?

I remember when Mr Potato Head was a bunch of plastic noses and eyes that you stuck on a real potato. I'm that old. I understand that in an effort to anticipate upcoming regulations and accommodate popular concerns, Philip Morris is developing a potato-flavored e-cig to be marketed to "the...

e-cigarette tv ad giving a bad image to considerate vapers?

This is best understood in context; it's a bit of a catch-22. In a nutshell, in order to prevent ecigs from falling under (fatal) regulation, manufacturers had to prove that they were recreational tobacco products and not cessation devices. A victory, but between the devil and the deep blue sea...

Suggestion: One restricted-posting forum for all legislative/regulatory/critical news

Well, I was especially envisioning one thread specific to the deeming regulations as all of that develops. It would provide a reference point when things begin to flounder and "grind", as someone put it, in the numerous threads where that's the overwhelming topic of interest. Members can...

FDA The Predicate Product of 2006 for FDA: Meet the Ruyan V8 , Early Innovator and Marketer of E-Ciig Vaping

“I'm a pessimist because of intelligence, but an optimist because of will.” ― Antonio Gramsci, Gramsci's Prison Letters It's not gratuitous doom-crying to acknowledge difficult realities. It's not delusion to look for loopholes there, and a way out. The problem begins when people, especially...

Suggestion: One restricted-posting forum for all legislative/regulatory/critical news

Strong yes here. (Thanks Roger). It would be enormously helpful, I think. Title shouldn't imply that excluded comments/commenters are untrustworthy. "FDA Regs -Updates from (Our) Advocates and Activists?" I remember back in the day wading through those hundreds of pages of outrage, wild...

My local news is cranking out a new e-cig story every night. Is this happening everywhere?

Ya. it's already affecting my own personal experience. Non-vapers starting sentences with, "Did you know... ... ...?" Tedious to try to patiently and respectfully disabuse them of their newly gleaned "information" from "respectable" news sources. It puts us on the defensive, which never plays...

Oh, no, it's alive! CA no-shipping bill AB1500 assigned to committee

I seem to have set my FB so that I'm the only one who can see anything. My daughters tell me that this defeats the whole purpose. :D

    Positive article about e-cigarettes!

Don't feel dumb. Everybody's been there.

FDA Common misconceptions about FDA regulations ( I hope CASAA will address at some point in the next few weeks)

Hm, don't think it'll really be noticed there. And sorry to be OT - it really has been that sort of a week. Sigh.

FDA So where is the outcry from the vendors?

After 5 years of vaping I can sing again. Smoking had reduced my voice to a sullen croak. I propose that CASAA fly me to the next FDA conference. I'll serenade them. I promise not one of them will be left standing.

FDA Common misconceptions about FDA regulations ( I hope CASAA will address at some point in the next few weeks)

Re "lecturing the owner and founder" - yeah. Gads. On a similar note, it seems to me that it might be a good idea to have a couple of comment-less stickies up in ECF where our several enormously knowledgeable and long-time politically active Venerables could simply keep us updated and clarify...

FDA The Predicate Product of 2006 for FDA: Meet the Ruyan V8 , Early Innovator and Marketer of E-Ciig Vaping

Really grateful for the update and clarification, Smokey. Good to clear as much fog as possible, even if the emerging outlines are really discouraging. And... gak. :(

More proof that casaa should try and get this guy as a spokesperson

Oh, well now, this makes me feel much better about the FDA giving BT the ecig industry. Why, look at all those fancy ingredients we can have with those guys in charge! I mean, there's nothing BT doesn't know about gussying up a little boring old nicotine. I bet we'll even get back some of that...

More proof that casaa should try and get this guy as a spokesperson

You're right about those links. But as others have pointed out, not much going on at RedState, either. And I applaud Fox, too, for their support on this one. I haven't seen anyone here object to positive support for ecigs from Fox here. And I'm going to leave my commentary at that now.

    Weird after taste

Peppery is generally nicotine - might be just an unskillful blend that doesn't knit that in right; it's some sort of imbalance. I'd check out favorite juice vendors in the forum. I highly recommend Ahlusion.

More proof that casaa should try and get this guy as a spokesperson

Well, from the left there's this crumb from Kos - he's been fighting the good fight there: Democrats: Stop the war on vaping! Efforts like this: Liberals Come Out Against Dem's eCig Crusade Liberals Getting Fed up With Democrats on eCigs and various random blog articles from lefties either...
