North Carolina considers selling e-cigs to inmates for profit!

That is totally amazing and brilliant. Thanks for posting. Now if we could just get the dimwits in psychiatric hospitals to pay attention to what happens to stressed out, confined persons in acute crisis when you also restrict cigarettes to occasional "breaks" in a corner of the grounds...

I'm battling some ANTZ from Cali with edits to the wikipedia page on e-cigs

I have some idea of how time consuming a wiki war can be. Kudos, DrMA. It actually is really important, as everyone turns to wiki first, not always for definitive final fact but at least for orientation to supported consensus. It's actually a brilliant thing, but it needs dogged and persevering...

Donate to Dr Farsalinos' new study

KGie, yeah, but. "Organic", applied to e-liquid, is of course (as I think you now know) a very empty and meaningless marketing term. E-liquid isn't food, it's never "organic", and in fact "natural extracts" as opposed to synthetic flavors are more likely to be problematic, according to the very...

The final countdown to August 8th - your FDA comments NEEDED

I wanted mine to be in tune with others, so I perused many comments on the FDA site before composing my own. It reads as follows: "As an adult I enjoy a big, fat, premium cigar whenever I get the chance. Unfortunately, whenever I light up my wife cries, 'Ewwwww' and leaves the house. I haven't...

I love the amazing ECF community! Keep pluggin'!

FDA I can't locate one of my comments

I posted mine as an attachment. Do those take longer to appear? Will they continue to appear after the deadline for commenting? Anybody know?

Dow chemical refusing to supply Propylene Glycol to e-cigarette industry

For those of us who are concerned about avoidable contaminants in our e-liquid, the ready availability of "cheap" PG is more disturbing than comforting. NOT wanting to pursue any controversy on that in this thread, it's discussed at length elsewhere in ECF, but that issue does need to be...

Which e-liquid manufacturer is kindest on the lungs?

"Clean" can mean a lot of things. But if you want a juice that's really free of contaminants, pure and simple and least likely to contain any irritants, check out EcoPure. I love my flavors too much, but that juice is "clean" in the true sense of the word, and people really like the taste.

Huh? I don't understand how you reached that conclusion.

Why I'm fed up with the vape community (mostly)

Nah. Wild, exuberant and rebellious yoots aren't going to affect regs, and they most certainly aren't responsible for them. Those guys have much bigger fish to fry. It's probably not real healthy, that sub-ohming, but if I were young I'd probably be all over it. Tats, too. There are a lot of...

    Ahlusion E-Juice Part 3

Wait, really? Lemon Vanilla Cake? Will it fly off the shelves if I wait for a sale? Oh woe, a decision... Edit, 5 minutes later. Well, that was easy. :) :) :) Note: I have been vaping since 2010 and I still get silly. oboyoboyoboy Lemon Vaniller Cake oboy. And for anyone wondering, the real...

    Best juice brands?

Ahlusion gets a lot of love; it's by far my favorite and I've tried an awful lot of juice.

Dow chemical refusing to supply Propylene Glycol to e-cigarette industry

Ya, it's going to be that long before we see the full effect of any of this stuff, including the FDA regs. I'm old. Two years to me is the blink of an eye. :) :)

Dow chemical refusing to supply Propylene Glycol to e-cigarette industry

Again, it's more than a token disclaimer if they're refusing sales. And we don't know if this is insurance driven or not. Or if other major chem companies supplying high quality pharmaceutical grade PG will follow suit. It makes vendors vulnerable if their supply can be cut off upon discovery...

Dow chemical refusing to supply Propylene Glycol to e-cigarette industry

Ya, my first thought was that it was insurance company stuff. If the OP is correct, though, someone, presumably a vendor?, was refused a sale altogether. If they're cracking down (in response to insurance companies or whatever), very small companies might get in under the radar but... Just more...

Dow chemical refusing to supply Propylene Glycol to e-cigarette industry

Another quick search; Dekang and other Chinese e-liquid claims that their "solvent" is supplied by Dow, as recently as July 2014. Also an ECF discussion of PG with mention of Dow by Rolygate here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ecf-library/455394-glycerine-vapor-acrolein-issues.html...

A quick google search yielded ANTZ agitprop mentioning Dow but no others. A public service from the careful, humane persons who brought you napalm and agent orange.

Dow chemical refusing to supply Propylene Glycol to e-cigarette industry

It did appear that way to me. I haven't heard anything about 'concern' pressure (rather than overt regulation) being placed on chem companies that way; it is an alarming thought, but I dunno how far that'd get.

Dow chemical refusing to supply Propylene Glycol to e-cigarette industry

Here's the link re that policy. It's not dated so I don't know if it's an older policy re e-cigs or if that's a recent addendum. It basically describes various "unsupported" uses of PG, including e-cigs, and declares that they'll neither sample nor knowingly supply it for those purposes, and...
