I can't speak to others' experiences, but I've found the ribbon wire indisputably gives me coils that produce far more vapor. There's an obvious difference. Maybe I see it more because I'm using the monster .8mm stuff? Dunno. -

I don't have a link handy here at work... you should be able to search eBay for "Kanthal Ribbon" and find it though. It's pretty remarkable! EDIT: These guys just started selling ribbon wire... I haven't used them myself, so caveat emptor...
