RM2 Wick & Coil Setups
I just got a parcel from Germany with flat Kanthal yesterday... wrapped a coil with it last night, and all I can say is "wow." About 5 wraps (lots of surface area) and it still only measured about 0.9Ω, and it produces the most voluminous clouds I've seen yet from any setup I've used. -

Why are SS mesh wicks getting populars
Yeah, I've been noticing that too, now that I squonk with reckless abandon since I switched to the Reomiza 2.0. I can't say I care for that aspect of things. I don't really notice it affecting the taste, but it's an unpleasant aesthetic effect for sure. -

I don't think any strands of stainless steel can come off a mesh wick. The only potential danger I see is the stainless heating to the point of vaporizing, where it could release hexavalent chromium, a known carcinogen. But even with an extended dry burn, I don't think a coil in an RBA is... -

Preferred Wicking Material
I've been using stainless mesh for a couple of weeks now... bought it pre-oxidized. It's pretty great. So durable... a single wick lasts a lot longer than cotton or hemp. But when it gets a little dry, the taste is quite horrible. Squonk early and often. It takes vaping a few ml through it... -

Agreed, once I acclimated to no blind squonking, and just started squonking in what what would be a reckless manner with the A7, I've been amazed on this front. It seems like this atty is just impossible to flood. The A7 would flood and turn into a gurgling idiot if I looked at the squonk hole... -
