I've read claims that flavor and throat his suffer when air flow is increased. Personally, I've not found that to be the case, but I never go huge on my air hole(s).
Welcome Roxy. Sounds like you're on the fast track to vape nirvana.
Make sure you get yourself a multimeter or ohm meter to stay safe.
I prefer 26 and 28 gauge kanthal. They're easier to work with and (depending upon diameter and wrap count) put me in my sweet spot.
Just gotta say...
The Reactor I got is kicking some serious (insert Super X voice here) AYUSS!!!
Dual 8 wraps of 26ga, 2mm ID wicked with Ko Gen Do. It's like this:
I prefer using a round tapered needle file (like the one on the bottom below)
It allows me to remove material VERY slowly and avoid going too big.
They're very cheap at Harbor Freight.
I've tried varying amounts of sucralose, ethyl maltol (same as cotton candy flavoring) and marshmallow to add sweetness to unflavored juice. With all three, gunk buildup is directly related to the amount of sweetening agent added. I've since stopped adding anything.
I've been vaping unflavored...
That's one of the things that I dislike about the AFC. Juice remnants seem to collect and linger in and around the outer shell's slots. It drives me bonkers.
Existing and prospective Provari users are not interested in pushing the limits of vaping. 20 watts and 0.7 Ω lower aomizer limit is plenty for the vast majority of electronic cigarette users.
For the naysayers: Shut up and spend your money elsewhere.
For the Provariniati: Cheers and enjoy.
I initially had a similar problem with my Reactor. I pressed the positive post down a mm or so so it would make contact inside the REO's 510. Problem solved.
