K100 sanding down to brass,and rebuilding MECH HEADS HELP
I've been wanting to hear from someone who's popped the top cap on a k100. Considering you haven't screamed bloody murder about finding wires in there, I guess it's safe to assume there's none. -

That thing is REALLY secure and solid as a rock on mine. I don't dare try to force it. I'll leave that to you real modders out there. But as long as you're not using 18490, I think you can go without the spring if you want. -

@Rojo - The thing I don't understand is why you need a carto plug to keep from having too much of the pin sticking out the 510. I thought the user determins the position of the pin out the bottom simply by how far you screw on the base???- Vego

Aga-t help
Did you develope the problem soon after you added the brass washers? When I tried a brass washer, it started glowing red hot and I removed it immediately. It may have just been something querky I did with the washer... God knows I've F'ed up a few times, but I'd at least try testing the device...- Vego

I actually popped the cap, took out both small nubs of post, removed the wire altogether, added a small delrin tube with a ledge on top into the 510 top for insulator (spare piece from an aga t2), then screwed a 6/32 x 3/4 brass screw from the bottom... and it worked! Have you vaped the juice you're getting the burnt taste with before at @ 1.1ohms and whatever voltage you're at? I'm just wondering if that particular juice is prone to burn at higher wattage? Unless part of the silica has burned (maybe cheap silica)? Usually there's no hot spot issues with...
