I tried vaping with PG today....just a little bit on and off. (I'm paranoid now about reactions.)
All seems to be ok so far- touch wood!
I did get a bit of a headache this evening and flushing on ONE side of my face so I stopped vaping straight away but I think it's unrelated. Felt different...
I read somewhere that people with mental illness are more likely to 'self medicate" with nicotine. Supposedly it helps with depression?
I don't know....I just know I'd be mighty depressed without it.
And guess what.....I just read that sulphites are also in "Dental anesthetics containing adrenaline".
Might explain why I immediately get a racing heart if given that anasthetic! For years now I've had to have the anasthetic without adrenaline.
Unfortunately though it seems there is no clear...
Hi, thanks guys. I've been doing some reading about sulphites and to be honest I'm getting very excited here with what I am learning.
Sulphites are preservatives added to many foods but also can be added to VG to extend shelf life.
They are in alcohol too - predominantly wine and guess...
Hi Sam. I'm using 18 mg.
Just after I'd posted the above I realised my husband had done some searching overnight on the VG allergy thing and came up with at least half a dozen posts on this forum by people having similar reactions to VG.
So it seems that for a small percentage of people this...
Due to having what seemed like an allergic reaction after 3 weeks into vaping (rash on face- face flushing/burning, swelling around eyes)I stopped vaping for a week - back to cigarettes :(
Yesterday I decided to try again.
I vaped VG, NO flavouring (rule that out as a possible allergy...
Please be careful with essential oils! I am no expert but have dabbled with a few essential oils for candle making and some should be used with caution.
Before you vape anything do some research first and read all you can before you start inhaling it. I know peppermint oil is one to be...
Hi, just thought I'd give an update on my situation re the post I put up last Friday in regards to stopping vaping for a while due to a "suspected" allergy.
It took four days but slowly the rash faded and turned into really dry skin, the flushing/burning feeling eased as did the headache...
"Which reminds me - I need to take my last Fluconazole tablet - "The easy ORAL cure for most vaginal yeast infections"."
Lol! Ahh the degradation.
Yes I know the smell of coal tar. Stinks! Reminds me of when they are fixing the roads.
Sounds like you're on the mend now though.
Hope...
Thanks Skydragon. I will do some reading about the snuff.
Gary, you made me laugh. Yep, it's not just women who get yeast infections :) I've heard of yeast infections in the mouth, under the fingernails and in infants diaper rash but never on the face I must admit.
Did your rash itch?
Mine...
MASTER0FDAMPF , no no pepper chopping here lately. :) But I do have to wonder if somehow I was getting a bit of nic juice on my fingers touching the e-cig. Not likely because I'm sure I'd have felt it on my lips if it were leaking or something but twice I DID feel a numb sort of feeling in two...
Interesting AnaCat. Does make you wonder doesn't it. You're the first person that I've read about that's had a very similar reaction.
Did you get a headache as well with the rash?
I'm pretty sure the mango juice was from the same supplier yes. (I'll check with hubby though)
Thanks Eli. Me too. I thought I was all set.
Wolfstar....ahh,I know how scary it feels to actually take the big plunge and "quit". Don't be afraid though. Vaping is now your new best friend and it will always be there for you! :) As I've heard other people say, try not to overly THINK about...
Katmandu - Thanks...yes, you never know it could very well have been the strawberry. I pretty much started with that flavour but it could be that I developed an intolerance to it after a few weeks?
When I have had a sufficient break and start vaping again I will be sure to thoroughly rule...
Wolfstar - No, have never been able to source the reason for my sons eczema. It's never been a regular thing for him and since my father is allergic to everything under the sun and gets hayfever and eczema all the time I just presumed my son has inherited his sensitivities to a point. In fact...
Shannon, I too am constantly amazed at how often you go to see the doctor and they "don't know". I've given up on the idea that the medical profession somehow has all the magic answers because in my experience so often they just don't!
Do we even have poison ivy in Australia? I'm not even...
(No mango's DC2...unfortunately the season is over. Winter here. :) )
I just want to say that you guys are just SO kind! Thanks so much for trying to figure this out for me and for all your helpful suggestions, relating of your own experiences and pm's.
I've literally been sitting here...
Swedish fish ....I'm saying that because this "seems" to me like eczema , in appearance anyway.
Should have said "If I were truly allergic to nicotine I would have been prone to allergic rashes such as this while smoking - surely?" Anyway, that's just being silly - and desperate. I'm sure...
