28 gauge Stainless Steel Wire - Nickel Free - 200 Feet - Introductory – Unkamen Supplies it says in the description that it's 430 SS.
I've ordered a bunch of 304 and I'll test it quite soon. N200 has pretty much destroyed my palate in two days of moderate vaping... I've switched to titanium...
Great, TheBloke, sorry if I wasn't clearer. And I agree that we couldn't care less about the frequency of measurement, it's the power curve we are interested in (didn't ever get any "rattlesnaking" so far, in any case) and the temperature accuracy.
Wanted to point out something that happened to...
I wonder... is it in pursue of higher wattage that dual 18650 gets configured serially as opposed to in parallel? I would much prefer increased autonomy and do away with all the hassle of managing serially connected batteries...
I'm not sure we are talking about the same thing (we might, just checking). Here I see Koopor Mini measuring resistance 4,000 times a second. You are saying Reliant might do that just once per second? It seems much too coarse a measurement, but I'm not saying you are wrong, mind. :)
What symptoms does somebody with nickel allergy display. Since I was eager to try my new Apollo Reliant I started vaping with Nickel, first with a coil I made and later with a Zephyrus Ni200 coil I had. On my upper palate I developed some discomfort and now that I switched to Titanium it seems...
Check here for 316 (CrNiMo17-12-2): SS Wire-V4A 0.39mm / 0.015" / AWG 26
And here for 304 (CrNi18-10): SS Wire-V2A 0.40mm / 0.016" / AWG 26
And, as usual, TheBloke is a scholar and a gentleman. Thank you so much for your help (I won't tire of thanking you, I hope you don't tire of being...
If I understand things correctly, the V4A and V2A stainless steel wires from Zivipf are respectively 304 and 316 SS, with 10% and 12% Nickel respectively... isn't the alloy stable enough not to leak Nickel in vapor, considering the low percentage (still over five times less than NiFe52, if I'm...
From everything I've read so far on this thread, and given the latest findings, I feel that SS might be the best option. With the resistances we find workable it has sufficient precision and no weak point, as far as I understand (no toxic compounds developing, no allergies, easily workable...
I've received this morning Titanium Gr1 from Zivipf (cleaned with Everclear alcohol it left back several dark grey stripes on the cotton I was using, before getting clean), I used AWG 26 wire and got a 0.40 coil on a 2.5 support. This is in fact quite springy but I manged to keep it quite close...
Hi @TheBloke waiting patiently (not really :D) for your findings on the Reliant... is today the day you are going to share with us? :)
Thanks so much in advance, whenever it's going to be.
Wow, TheBloke, you truly are a jewel on the internet. Thank you so much for all the info in this and other threads. Looking forward to your findings. And yes, I misinterpreted what you wrote before and thought I had to put TCR at 60 (but it didn't vape well and I brought it back at 69 before...
One question: what's the relationship with temperature of TCR. Meaning, if I vape at 69 (that's the default I found on the box for Ni200) but the correct value is 60, will the temperature be in reality higher than set up or lower?
Reporting here on perfect fire button. It produces a not so loud click when pressed and it's almost silent when depressed.
Really looking forward to correct TCR values from @TheBloke thanks in advance for them! :)
They might as well state clearly where the two chips differ. I mean, if theirs is better, I feel it would be in their best interest to clearly explain where and how, wouldn't it be?
I list here all the shortcuts I found in the manual, for people interested:
Changing fire mode (temp, wattage, mech): firing button and - button for 3 secs
Changing wattage while in temp mode: firing button and + button for 3 secs
Locking W or temp: + and - buttons for 3 secs
Device lock: 5...
Well, TheBloke, suffice to say that the first genesis atomizer I bought (it was from DID I seem to remember, I later sold it)... well, I started rebuilding it at 22:00 and finished at 04:30 in the middle of the night. Clearly it was the first time (but so it was this time with nickel) but it was...
