    Reversed battery polarity in mechs

I think I've got this down... it all has to do with the direction of the flow of the electricity. Someone please tell me if I'm wrong, but here's my explanation. Here are two scenarios: Molly puts her battery in positive up, towards atomizer. The electricity naturally flows from the positive...

If it looks like a mech mod, acts like a mech mod, isnt it a mech mod?

I think it's safe to say that most high end mechs have been designed and engineered for performance, with aesthetics coming second. With a clone, the aesthetics come first, and performance comes second, as the primary focus of a clone is to "look like it", not "act like it". When something is...

who makes stainless and copper mods ?

I think the MKB-TS has plated copper endcaps... you could always sand them down to the bare copper. I personally find copper to be an ugly metal. It's works great for contacts, but it's also high maintenance, as it'll oxidize faster than you can polish it.

If it looks like a mech mod, acts like a mech mod, isnt it a mech mod?

I disagree. I didn't really pay attention to voltage drop until I got a mod with low voltage drop. And this isn't just about cheap vs. expensive, I've got a stainless steel Galileo that I absolutely adore (and for how well it's made, and a price tag of 130 Euros, I would consider it fairly high...

    Why mech mod???????

The voltage dropoff is not as bad as you think... in fact, until my batteries get to about 3.7v, I have a hard time telling the difference. And it's still an incredibly satisfying vape until it gets below 3.6v, then around 3.5 it comes time for a charge. This is especially true for a mod with a...

    RDAs catching fire?

A lot of higher end dripping attys have high temp plastic, and can withstand some serious heat. At least, I know the Helios can. Actually, I've got a Bachelors degree in Chemistry. ;) It's not as simple as saying "low oxygen means no fire", there's some physics involved. As in, an atty with a...

    RDAs catching fire?

Bingo! If you ever oxidized a mesh wick by doing the juice burn, you'll notice that e-liquid burns off quite violently. Some people I know torch their silica while it's still connected to the RDA for a total cleaning (I personally wouldn't do this for fear of ruining the atomizer itself). But...

VHO Titan, on its way! :)

Very nice! I stand corrected. :) I got mine a couple months ago, so it's very possible this is just how they come now. I just assumed it would be a bit more expensive with the silver ones... my apologies to both you and N9V!

VHO Titan, on its way! :)

It's harder to tell from that picture than I thought it would be... haha. How about this: To the left is the nickel plated copper, and to the right is the sterling silver. And for the record, that's a nice patina you got going on that bronze! :)

VHO Titan, on its way! :)

I'm not claiming they're lying (I love nimbus9vape) but based on the price I think they're wrong. It's easy to mistake the two, and the specs differ almost by the website (I saw a site claiming the Cronus had brass caps, which is close but still wrong) I'd have to see a picture of your Cronus'...

VHO Titan, on its way! :)

They're not silver; they're nickel plated copper. All Titans these days come with that instead of the bare copper (unless you get one from an earlier run). To my knowledge, only the Cronus from VapeheadUSA comes preinstalled with the silver positive contact.

VHO Titan, on its way! :)

I hope you enjoy them! Here's a tip with the Helios: make sure to build your coils relatively high so they're in line with the air holes. I first built them pretty low, and got an insanly harsh vape. As long as they're right at the little holes that you put the wires through (or slightly above)...

VHO Titan, on its way! :)

Yeah, most VHO stuff is pretty pricey for what it is... but you pay for the quality, and the support VHO offers for their products more than justifies the price. Out of curiosity, where did you order the Titan and Helios from?

VHO Titan, on its way! :)

https://vapeheadusa.com/hats/silver-positive-pin-upgrade-brass-topcap You won't be disappointed with the Titan; it has an infamously low voltage drop, and you'll feel it in the vape. The only downside to both the Titan and the Cronus is that the upper tubes have a ~20mm diameter, so there's not...

    Sigelei Mechnical Mods

That wouldn't help at all. The entire top cap (atty and all) is still constantly connected to the + side of the battery, and the entire rest of the mod body is constantly connected to the - side of the battery, so any metal that touches anything above the delrin insulator (no matter how wide it...

    Sigelei Mechnical Mods

The long pin goes through the thing on the left of the first picture (that looks like a top hat), and the button hits the outside of the top hat to complete the circuit. Well, I guess that solves it then.

    Sigelei Mechnical Mods

Does it only fire when you touch metal to the top and the button, or does it fire when you touch the top to any part of the body? If the logic I posted above is correct, it should fire when you touch a wire to the atomizer or topcap above the delrin disk and any part of the body. If that's the...

    Sigelei Mechnical Mods

Would anyone be willing to remove the button and take a picture of the switch's interior? I'd like to get to the bottom of this, but I need to see how things connect in there... EDIT: Someone beat me to the question! Let's investigate. Okay, so the problem is that the entire topcap is part...

    Sigelei Mechnical Mods

I've been thinking about this for a few minutes... If you're getting a shock on your lips that essentially means your body is completing the circuit. But for the life of me I can't think of any possible way for this to happen under normal circumstances... What kind of atomizer are you using?

VHO Titan, on its way! :)

I just got my silver pin upgrade for my Titan today... I was surprised at the difference it made. Not really with sheer power, but my atomizer fires completely the instant I press the button. Even with copper it took a (brief) moment to really get going. I'm currently running a Trident on it...
