    When do batteries vent?

Same here... my Galileo vents through the button, but the locking ring has no effect on it. Thermal runaway is kinda like a nuclear bomb. Something causes a sudden rise in temperature, which creates a chain reaction. What that something is is variable, be it external temperature or physical...

RichMan Vapors Rebuildable Atomizer coming soon

Same thing happened with my EA Mod switch... that's 30 bucks I'll never truly get back. I haven't done any modding to my Richman (it's been a little lonely since I got my Cobra), but it still works perfectly. It's funny, though... my wicks seem to wick better in the Richman than in my...

Why pay well over $100 for a mech when a clone of it is a fraction of the price?

Personally, I think it's wrong to classify mods into only two categories. I think we need to view them on an individual basis, because each mod will perform differently. I have a 230 dollar mod that outperforms a 200 dollar mod... that same 200 dollar mod was also outperformed by a Smoktech...

Charred center post with Cobra genesis?

I don't think they're brass... unless they're chrome plated or something. The center post is brass, but the nuts are an almost shiny white. I pulled out my Brasso and rubbed a small dab on to see if it would clean it off, but it doesn't appear to be polishable. Obviously this doesn't affect...

Charred center post with Cobra genesis?

I was just wondering if anyone has experienced blackened/burned/charred-looking stains on the nuts around the center post, where you trap the wire? I ran about three tanks through my Cobra before deciding to rebuild it, and saw the stains and am just wondering if I'm doing something wrong? I've...

How to care for your 510 connection?

Would vaseline work? It seems the most tame of all the lubes you can use. And what an ADV? haha, I feel stupid now. :-P

what was your first e-cig? what's your go-to now?

I started with a Mistic from Wal Mart... I quickly evolved to V2 Cigs, and then got an eGo-C. I used that for quite a while (and I remember how silly I thought a Silver Bullet looked at the time). Then I bought a Galileo, and never looked back! I have better mods now, but I still use my first...

How to care for your 510 connection?

There are lots of posts about how to care and maintain the threads in a mod, but very little info on how to care for the threads of your 510 connection, which is what usually gets the most abuse. This is especially important with connections made out of brass, or a similar "softer" metal, with...

What mechanical mod would you recommend to a beginner?

I'm starting to think Pinoy is the way to go... I bought a Cronus from them, and I've never been happier with a mod. This thing is seriously hard hitting. The vape from it makes even my EA Mod feel like a lightweight. My recommendation to someone just getting into mechs is to buy a cheap one...

    MECH. SAG . . . . . . . really?

I've always been able to go a full day on an 18500 without a noticeable change is power... I mean, I'm sure it's there, but the vape is satisfying 'til the sun goes down. And I've had an 18650 last me two days. Of course, I run usually no less than 1.3ohms (and that's low for me; 1.5 tends to be...

23mm OD mechanical mods for 18350

I think the Sigelei #19 is 23mm... the problem is that the Terminator has this little ledge at the bottom that makes it impossible to sit totally flush on most mods, so unless you modded it, you might be having a weird gap between mod and atomizer.

High-End Mechanicals Chat, Tips, and Pics

What's the material of the screen? Acetone can actually dissolve a lot of plastics (and make them look cloudy). I found that out the hard way in Organic when I tried to clean my goggles with it... afterwards I basically had beer goggles (and thus put them right next to the ethanol!). As a...

    Noob APV Recommendation

They're only simpler to a degree... and you don't have to use a rebuildable on a mechanical. I'd say mechanicals are easier because there are fewer things to go wrong, and as long as you know what you're doing, the risk level is almost zero. Of course, I am a mech guy, so I guess I'm a bit...

Low profile switch on a cheap mech?

From what I hear, the Sigelei #20 (the Roller clone) is pretty darn compact. The button and 510 connection are all part of the same assembly, so that would be something to look at too. :-) EDIT: Here's Todd's review of it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrSMSaLxFr0 He's not too kind to it...

Low profile switch on a cheap mech?

You're always gonna need some space for the switch and 510 connection, there's no getting around it! If you're looking for one that the button doesn't protrude at all, I remember seeing a Sigelei that has a totally flush button, and you have to push it up into the base to fire. I forget what...

What is usually the reason for volt drops on mechs?

It wouldn't help as much as a polishing, but it would help. You don't even have to soak it, just wipe it down (you can use alcohol if you want, I normally just do a dry wipe with a microfiber cloth). That said, I think the MKB-TS uses a steel spring, which isn't the best for conductivity...

High-End Mechanicals Chat, Tips, and Pics

Yeah, if you can find one! My Nautilus/Terminator is currently my most reliable rebuildable (perhaps that will change when I get my Cobra). But it's always good to remember that while original may be the best option, a copy is (by process of elimination) the second best option.

What is usually the reason for volt drops on mechs?

The spring could be part of the issue, but usually it's the contact points in general. The same thing happens on my EA Mod, and sometimes a nice wipedown of the contacts (positive, ground, and button) fixes the problem. When even that begins to fail, I pull out the polish and make them all...

    20 - 21mm Genesis

So I'm looking to buy a new genesis atomizer that will fit a new mod, which is (I believe) 21mm diameter. I've been looking at the Cobra (I have been for a while), the Bliss, and the Somnium. The second two are hard to come by it seems, but I decided to perhaps branch out and see if there's any...

RichMan Vapors Rebuildable Atomizer coming soon

So I got my Cronus a few days ago, and I was so hoping it would be a 22mm mod, but alas, it appears to be a very odd 21mm. So Rich... any chance you could shave off a millimeter or two from the Richman? :p I'm just kidding, but it would be a cool thing to offer different sizes for different mods!
