    rebuilder's life

I once tried to explain the whole resistance thing to my girlfriend... it ending up being (cue Russian accent) "Low resistance strong and good... high resistance weak and flavorless". Her response was essentially: "Just don't explode that battery."

RADIATOR PLUID by Mad Murdock..What your opinion?

I got a 30mL bottle a while ago... but I was afraid to vape it because it's such a rare juice. Well I finally did, and since 20mg is a bit high for me (I've been doing 12mg), I cut it 6mL Pluid to 4mL pure PG in a 10mL bottle, which gives me 12mg and about 75/25 PG/VG (granted it's a 50/50 juice...

    Question about Mech mods conductivity

Think about it this way. The electricity has the entire mod to flow through, whether it's stainless steel or copper. That's a lot of space to move around in. But they're all directed to and from those little pins that touch the battery. So really, you want those pins to be as accepting of that...

Origin mod, real deal or clone? Did I just get robbed?

I won't ask who you got it from, but I can say that selling a clone as authentic (which is fraud) is business suicide for any vendor. In other words, I would doubt they ripped you off if they're even a mildly recognized name. I'd say you have a better chance of being ripped off if you bought it...

Kayfun 3.1 vs Kayfun Lite question!

The Kayfun 3.1 and the Kayfun Lite + are both 22mm in diameter. I'm not sure about the exact size difference, but if the Russian and Russian 91% are exact copies, then the Lite will be 9% shorter than the 3.1. Lung hits are possible on the 3.1... I've never removed the screw completely, but in...

Need a little help with my Kayfun lite plus

Is there any chance you could take a picture of the coil and how the wick is laying? If you read SvoeMesto's instruction manual, it warns that if the wick, or a part of the wick, is somehow laying on top of or too close to where the actual coil lays (that little block for the positive...

    Noalox and mods

Yeah, it makes your mods thread like butter... but it's an absolute nightmare to clean off, especially if it's on a telescopic mod. I personally don't use it anymore (even on my aluminum mods) because after a while it gets gunked up, and it just makes my mods feel grimy.

Stainless steel grading in mods and attys

The difference is in cost... and coolness in saying it's 316. There's no way that a 2% difference in nickel and chromium would make much of a difference for us vapers. The big difference between 304 and 316 is that 316 has a bit of molybdenum (about 2%), and this just helps it against chlorides...

    Galileo

You can absolutely use EVODs and clearos on a mech. When I first started vaping, I used a mech and Vivi Novas (and others similar). Lower ohm rebuildables take full advantage of a mech's capabilities, but don't think that you have to use them. Truth be told, some people like myself just like the...

    Galileo

I don't see why they wouldn't... it's the same circuit as a non-magnetic mod, just completed in a different way.

High-End Mechanicals Chat, Tips, and Pics

As I often point out, Brasso is rumored to weaken brass, allowing it to crack and break easier, as the ammonia in the Brasso may literally eat away the copper in the alloy. Again, this is just a rumor, but I can say that ammonia does dissolve copper, it's just not exactly known how it treats...

    Question about contacts

Some people use fine sandpaper to remove tarnish, others use a regular pencil eraser. I'm a polishing fan myself. Get some Mothers Mag & Aluminum polish, it'll make those copper pieces shine! Copper oxidizes really easily, and really quickly, so once you polish them and install them, wipe them...

    Question about contacts

In my experience, nickel plated copper might be my favorite kind of contact. The difference between copper and silver (usually sterling is used, as pure silver is too soft, and sterling is a mix of silver and copper) is un noticeable. Nickel doesn't really oxidize, but silver does (yes, even...

Has anyone seen an Aluminum Chi You Clone before?

Honestly, that just looks like stainless steel. Polished aluminum looks much more white. If the body and pins were aluminum, their color would match much more than they do. Not necessarily... in fact, 304 stainless steel (and all stainless in that series) is defined as austenitic, which means...

    Helios Dual Coil

You just take a single strand of silica and wrap it over itself, making a U shape, and wrap the coil around/closer to the two free ends. Using 2.5mm (and even 3mm) looped I can usually bend the rest of the wick under the coils. I've got the sleepy shakes at the moment, making it hard to build...

    Helios Dual Coil

Here's my usual build on my Helios, which is always a wonderful vape for me. 2.5mm silica looped, 5 wraps of 30g Kanthal for each coil, gets me around 0.7 ohms if I recall. If you're doing standard coils, try to make them as close to the posts as possible without them touching. Those long legs...

    Kayfun LITE

The Kayfun's are easily the best rebuildables on the market... they're the only attys besides a few drippers I like that I would consider ordering multiples. :-) I am looking at the Kayfun Mini 2.1 at the moment... I just don't understand why the mini is $165 and the lite is $99. Does the...

    Nzonic V4 acting funny?

There's very little that can go wrong with a mechanical mod... except poor contact. We're not talking just a weak connection (which results from dirty contacts or dirty threads), we're talking flat out no fire at all, correct? If so, that means one of two sides of the battery is not making...

What "bad" flavors/tastes do you actually enjoy?

I normally vape fruity flavors nowadays... in fact, my current all day vape is Ice Strawberry Kiwi from a local vape shop, it's wonderful! However, every once in a while I get a craving for a nice, dry tobacco flavor. I'm not exactly sure why, but I once craved it and had none, and I almost had...

What do you refer to your device as?

First and foremost I call them by their name. Like, "This is my Provari..." or "My Galileo and Kayfun...", which usually gets people's interest. I then say, "It's my vaporizer..." and only when I get that blank stare (and I usually do) I say quickly, "... my e-cig". But then again, no one who...
