Yeah, soda is bad. Those 20oz bottles are something like 240 calories each.
I did basically the same thing, bought better whole foods and just prepared them well. Grilled veggies were a big part of it, tiny bit of seasoning and a whole bunch of heat.
Drink a bunch of water is the first step
