    The Pyrex SS hybrid Wick

I ordered some thin wall tubes and now can't wait to give this a go. It will be exciting to see where all this goes and I certainly can't wait to try some experiments.

    The Pyrex SS hybrid Wick

I was having the same thought. The same way those guys that sell the SS sheets suddenly sold out of all of their scraps. I just wish I had some to play with over my long weekend. Another idea came to mind. If you had two tubes, one inside the other with minimal amount of spacing it should...

    The Pyrex SS hybrid Wick

Glass seems to be the best bet. I've completed my experiments with PTFE and that just does not hold up. There are other concerns with possible gassing of that material too. Glass would be completely inert and combined with SS wick there just doesn't seem like there would be anything in the...

    The Pyrex SS hybrid Wick

The glass tube I linked to is considered the same as Pyrex. From my research "borosilicate glass that meets the requirement of Type 1 Class A glass from ASTM E438" is pyrex or the same thing. These tubes are like 8 bucks a piece. But with no need to replace them I think the thin wall of these...

    The Pyrex SS hybrid Wick

Watched the video. I am impressed with how quickly it actually comes up to temp. With hitting it at 15watts I'm sure that is making it heat up pretty quickly. What I am thinking is that it needs the high wattage for the first second then to drop to some lower wattage. My reasoning is that it...

    The Pyrex SS hybrid Wick

Nice! I was thinking about this a week or so ago and got side tracked looking at something else. When I was looking for tubes I found some that had .29 wall thickness. My thought is, the thinner the wall the faster the heat transfer. 3 mm Thin Wall NMR Sample Tube 7" L, 200MHz |...

I need to go do some research as I didn't think a SS wick would work in an A7. I have one so I guess I can try it. Do folks do a vertical wick in the A7?

    Help!!!!!!!!! Zmax came apart!

Ah, I thought your wires came off the board. Sounds like it was a simple fix. I can see how having it in your back pocket could be a problem. It really amazes me that folks carry their cell phones in their back pocket. Besides the obvious potential danger it really messes with the...

need help to decide which vv e cig i should buy

If you want a solid little Atty to rebuild then the Phoenix is a good choice. You can easily use SS or other wicks in it. I like SS wick as it seems to provide a better flavor. As these things are subjective you'll just have to try it and find out I suppose.

Battery Life: ProVari vs. "Kicked" mods

Battery capacity is measured in Amp/Hours but for real world measurement the better measurement is watt/hours. In the end, the number of watt/hours you expend is the determination of how fast you drain your batter. If you are calculating usage and capacity then you will be measuring Amps. An...

To Provari or not to Provari?

I have held a Zenesys SideWinder and wow. You can add a Kick to that and have variable output. The down side is if you like to move your output around and with this you'd have to pop out the kick to do so. The Provari is highly recommended by many. I have a Zmax and really like it. With...

    ZMax owners...

I only like the Vivi Nova after it has been modified a bit. The head cut and a proper coil with low resistance leads attached. That said, I don't mind the Nova but tend to get muted flavor from it in stock form. I like 2.0-2.6 ohms and tend to use Attys. I have a Zmax v1 and prefer 5.5 to 7...

    Recommendations for a significant upgrade

I was going to suggest a Reo. If you didn't have the stipulation about fill I'd heavily recommend a Zenisys SideWinder and add a kick if you want variable output control.

    Help!!!!!!!!! Zmax came apart!

The first thing you need to do is to cut the glue holding the display cover in place and lift it out. Then you can gently release the board from the adhesive and slide it out the end of the tube. Soldering the connections back on should be fairly straight forward after that. You can use...

    just gotta zmax setup

If you are using it in Wattage mode then it is pretty straight forward to get it going. To enter wattage mode you should go to the 7th menu and make sure it is set to "P". Then use the 1st and 2nd menus to move the wattage up or down. I would start with a range of 5.5 to 6.5 and see how you...

    provari vs a cheaper lavatube

tnt, Funny, I just read your review and that whole thread. Thank you for working out the setup. At the price I may just pick one up this week. I have several things on order though so I think I should pace myself. Nice RT in your Avatar. I had the R1200RT for 3 years and loved that bike...

I'm interested in a VAMO myself. Being able to do a short or long edition is a big plus. I've seen some with OLED displays too. As long as it has the RMS/MEAN option it should be accurate. I haven't seen the VAMO in SS though. I do love me some SS.
