    Upgrade Dilemma

The Zmax is a great for me and the reviews of the v2 claim the variances are gone in voltage settings. I use the VW function so I've never cared about the variances. The SS edition is solid. I dropped mine today, about 20 feet onto concrete. The was barely a scratch on it and it works the same.

smok zmax Good buy or spend the extra on a provari

I have a Zmax so my opinion is based on it. I haven't found fault with the Zmax. I do love the VW as it remains consistent as I rebuild my attys. I never change the wattage now that I've found what I like. For me I would buy it again and save the rest for a second device if I were worried...

    Another Kanthal wire resistance thread

This is precisely how I came up with to make coils for the VIVI Nova. The legs are twisted with silver so there are no hot spots in the grommet or through the tube. The coil (between the two twisted legs) is the where the heat is.

    Any Wyvern owners out there?

I loved the Wyvern while it lasted. After a couple of weeks with it I noticed that the ohm readings from it were unstable. After lots of investigation I found that fluid had some how leaked into the bottom internals. I heated it with a torch and found fluid vaper escaping around the posts...

    No Resistance wire?

I can tell you for certain that wrapping your legs on a VIVI works. It isn't all that pleasant to do but it certainly eliminates the heat on the legs and the grommet. I came up with the idea and sat and watched a buddy build the one I'm using yesterday. We just threw the sleeve out...

    No Resistance wire?

Unless you have a superconductor you have some resistance. This is just electric 101 stuff and is fairly irrelevant to e-cig discussion. A more accurate description is low resistance vs. high(er) resistance wire. Resistance is just a measure of how readily the electrons flow across the...

    No Resistance wire?

No resistance wire as it is talked about for e-cigs is used to connect your posts to the resistance wire/coil. This is done in some attys and such to make sure the heat is applied where you want it. You may or may not need to use it and you will find that some use it in places where others do...

Worth waiting for "watt adjustable" mods?

That's what I've been reading. I suppose that update might put that issue to bed. I'm happy with my Zmax v1 though I might pick up a v2 to have around as well. I want the same tech in a more pocket-able form factor. I could do something with the kick but I think I'll wait for now.

Worth waiting for "watt adjustable" mods?

I expected some off topic posts but geez. The thread is about upcoming mods with VW. If you are posting an opinion about VW vs. VV then there are plenty of threads that would fit the bill. I know that the Zmax v2 is due any day and there is going to be a Gripper. I am intensely interested...

Provari - Why all the haters?

Why would you want to suggest what other people consider a good feature "not a big breakthrough"? I can understand that you don't have a use for it but why would you wish to diminish another opinion about what works for that person? I've had to bump my wattage a bit one way or another...

Smoktech ZMax Owners - Pics., Tips, Tricks and Quirks

I have only used positively charged electrons in my Zmax. It won't accept the negative ones but I'm guessing that's a good thing.

Provari - Why all the haters?

The above quote is a fair statement of opinion but it should be obvious why others would find it a bit offensive too. In this realm I'm new and I love the VW kit I have and have never tried a Provari. I would want one if/when they do VW as it looks solid and they have a good claim to...

Smoktech ZMax Owners - Pics., Tips, Tricks and Quirks

An update to my previous "issues" report. I believe my issue was a lose connection in the atty I was using. I rebuilt the coil as it wasn't vaping good. After the new wick/coil was in the atty the Zmax started to behave normally again. My bad for not diagnosing further before jumping to the...

Smoktech ZMax Owners - Pics., Tips, Tricks and Quirks

I posted in the general section pretty much the same. I am set at 6watts and it is right on when I swap heads. I was playing with the settings when I and it were knew but I haven't moved it in a couple of weeks now. With the obvious issues that have been discussed I'm sure we will see better...

Smoktech ZMax Owners - Pics., Tips, Tricks and Quirks

Thanks but all of my batteries are good to go. I have one Panasonic, one Efest, one EH @ 18650 and two AW for a stack of 18350s. The Zmax exhibits the problems with both stacked and not and all batteries so far.

Smoktech ZMax Owners - Pics., Tips, Tricks and Quirks

** UPDATE: I had a user error that caused this behavior. A lose connection in my atty caused the Zmax to not be able to reliably detect the resistance and it properly refused to fire. ** Started having trouble with my Zmax. I suppose I'll see how the warranty works out. The button clicks...

    I like number six

I'd love to say that its dead on accurate but I could as I haven't tested it. I was at VaperCon and I overheard a few discussions about the Zmax. So, I suppose it just hit me that it really didn't matter to me what the number six in my wattage display really meant. I just know that number is...

    I like number six

After enough Zmax bashing I've had to change my answer when people ask what wattage I vape at. What I can tell people is that I like 6 to 7 depending on juice on my Zmax and that setting seems to very well carry over from head to head that I use. So I've gone to reading the power settings as...

    New ZMAX owner

I'm also a new owner and new vaper. I can't compare my SS Zmax with anything else since its all I have had so far. I can say that I'm happy I went with this device and it has let me quit analogs for a bit over a week now.

    New to Vaping

Lots and lots of samples. I've been ordering sample sizes like crazy. The problem, if there is one for me, is that I'm finding a several I like. When I find something I like I take a note of it to reorder. I still haven't decided on my personal go to vape but I'm not worried over it. I'm...
