Touché, although, I experienced the same thing on my first vamo, some of my tanks grabbed the threading others didnt, however, all of them grabbed on other devices.
I'd pick up an airflow controller as you said, just keep that on it pretty much permanently and your threads will thank you. Also you'll have control over your draw as an added bonus
You have a lot of options but to give you a good recommendation I think we need a little more info, first, are you opposed to multiple batteries or do you want one battery to last all day? How much do you vape on average per day? What capacity is your current ego twist battery?
I'd recommend just getting a cheap ego battery or two until you can afford what you want. Fasttech sells cheap ego type batteries or I also sell a value battery set (on eBay)
Yes it is perfectly safe and a pretty common practice for a lot of people on the forum, not only can you clean them you can also rebuild them for next to nothing with a new coil and new wicking. Rebuilt coils often perform better than factory coils!
