    The Protank and the Protank Mini do use the same heads. The EVODs use those heads as well. I don't really care for the metal tip on my Protank either. The Protank 2 and the Protank Mini 2 allow you to use your own drip tips, so that might be a solution for you.

    What mod are you vaping with? It's possible you didn't have a short with the 1.0Ω coil; if you are using an APV like a VAMO or SVD I believe the resistance needs to be over 1.3Ω or so or the mod won't fire it.     I feel the same way. I keep looking at Namber Juice but can't justify $20 for 30ml of the stuff. To the OP, do you have any brick and mortar vape shops nearby? If so, definitely stop in. If they sell eliquid they should allow you to have a seat and try any liquid you like at no cost.

    What battery are you using? If it has a 510 connection as well as the eGo threading they will work fine.

    I've noticed that with the fruity flavors I got, they definitely improved after sitting for a week or two. Some of the bakery flavors are fantastic right out of the mail though. I got a big bottle of B&W Cookie yesterday and it was fantastic after dinner last night.

    Give variable wattage a try. Start at about 6W and increase until you find your sweet spot. The benefit to variable wattage is that if you use a coil with a different resistance you won't have to play with the settings much, if at all.
