Good to know. I tried soaking my Protank and a couple of heads in vodka for about 24 hours and it didn't get rid of the metallic taste at all.
I just started boiling the tank and a couple of heads, we'll see what happens. For me, though, I don't think the heads are the problem; the same head...
You're going to want to forget that piece of advice.
I'd suggest starting at 6 watts and working your way up until you find a setting that you like. 4 watts is extremely low.
Now you tell me.
I kept hearing so much about Boba's that I ordered a 6ml bottle last week. It should be here today or tomorrow, depending on how energetic my mailman is feeling today. I'm looking forward to trying it.
The only feedback I have is to make sure that whatever you are building actually vapes well instead of concentrating on the bells and whistles. You could invent a mod that makes me invisible when I use it, but if it vapes like crap it's going in the garbage.
That said, good luck. More vaping...
My process is pretty much the same as above. Rinse well in very hot water, or soak in a glass of vodka overnight if the previous flavor is still hanging around a bit.
I do have one other tip that works for me. After I dry everything off, I wrap some paper towel around the replaceable head and...
I like the VAMO as well. Right now it's my at-home vape with a Protank or an EVOD.
I recently got the iTaste VV and I'm pretty impressed with it. All of the same features as the VAMO but in a smaller package; with an EVOD on it I can carry it around in my pocket without a problem. If you are...
That, and the batteries can be replaced if they ever go bad. That's not really an option on an eGo, and the internal battery inside will fail eventually. That said, eGo's aren't that expensive and if it's working for you keep at it.
You may have to worry about the adhesive between the brass parts of the unit and the Pyrex coming loose if exposed to too much heat. I would think 15 minutes in boiling water wouldn't hurt anything, but you may want to keep an eye on it.
I just disassembled my Protank and submerged it all in a...
I took a picture. It's hard to see, but this is the replaceable head for the Protank. See on the right side of the pic, just to the left of that wide white gasket? In gold lettering it says "2.2" ohms.
1. If you have a variable voltage device you should be fine whether you are using 1.8 or 2.6 ohm coils. I usually shoot for around 2.0 ohms and have no issues.
2. The EVOD is plastic, so if your juices are cracking tanks then the same will happen with the EVOD.
3. The Protank is essentially...
That's interesting. I washed mine out pretty well with very hot water when I got it, I removed one of the flavor wicks, and I'm using a 1.8 ohm head (although my mods are saying that it is 2.0 ohms). Still have a metal taste.
I was just searching the forums because I have the exact same issue. I have the same juice in a Protank and in an EVOD, both at the same resistance, and when switching to the Protank that metallic flavor appears instantly.
I did wash it out pretty well with very hot water before I filled it, so...
You can achieve a quality vape using either setting, but variable power works more like a "set it and forget it" option. If you are using variable voltage you will need to change your power setting based on the resistance of the atomizer that is attached; variable power takes the resistance of...
