When the voltage starts to near 3.4V I can typically sense a performance dropoff. I usually check periodically and when it reads 3.5V I swap it out, but I did let it go once to make sure that the protection was working and my V3 stopped working when it was in the 3.3-3.2V range.
With my microcoils that's the only time I get spitting, when I have too little cotton threaded through it.
I'm still working on trying to find a standard length and width of cotton that will fit in my 1/16" coils perfectly so that I can cut a bunch up ahead of time. I'm getting a little better...
Hold down the left button and it will display the remaining voltage on the battery; hold down the right button and it will show you the resistance of your atomizer.
Personally I have mine set to display the voltage setting I have chosen when I press the fire button, so I can see all three...
I don't usually buy into vaping conspiracy theories. Rechargeable batteries don't last forever, no matter what battery you use it will only be rated to last a certain number of charge/discharge cycles.
A year of use on an eGo doesn't seem bad at all.
Get in the habit of pressing some paper towel in there and twisting it around each time you remove your tank or whatever you are vaping with. That will keep it pretty clean. Sometimes if you end up with a little bit of leaking into the connection the juice in there will caramelize and build up...
I don't either. I typically just twist up a corner of paper towel and clean it that way but from time to time the paper towel will come out awfully dirty. That's usually when I use the alcohol to break up the residue inside, it comes out looking as good as new.
Let it steep. Remove the cap and dropper for 24 hours in a cool and dark place, then cap it and let it sit for a couple of weeks. Shake it each day if you can.
Not a guaranteed fix (it just might not be your cup o' tea) but steeping helps many liquids improve.
If you have any residue in there saturate a Q-Tip with some rubbing alcohol and swab all around the connector, then wipe it all down with a paper towel. If you are worried about the alcohol working its way inside simply hold the battery with the connection facing downward while you do it.
I understand. I believe super_X_drifter was actually referring to the screwdriver Todd used in the video, not his latest wrap which he posted pictures of.
Yeah, I didn't see replacement nylon nuts for it anywhere. I'm not sure if they are a standard item that can be found at a hardware store or not. I did see in the reviews for those insulators that people said they solved their leaking issues; perhaps they were referring to using them on the deck...
The golden rule of vaping is to have backups for your backups. You don't need a second eVic, but definitely buy one or two spare batteries so that when you need to charge the one you are using you won't have to stop vaping while it charges.
You may want to invest in a smaller eGo style battery...
I used to love anise flavors when I was a kid, then had a run-in with a bottle of Sambuca in college. 20 years later and the smell of black licorice still makes me gag.
I've stayed at the same weight but that is a plus in my eyes. The first time I quit smoking (before I learned about vaping) I gained 20 pounds; it was one of the reasons I ended up smoking again.
I second trying to find a couple of sweet vapes that you enjoy. Instead of actually eating dessert I vape it. I also drink A LOT of water and that helps too.
First off, do you know what tanks you are using? If you could provide the name and/or manufacturer of them that would help people troubleshoot. Are they like these? Joyetech eGo-T A Type Atomizer
As to the sore throat, are you drinking enough water? Vaping will dehydrate you, so be sure to...
