Making the switch to "natural" eliquids

Alice in Vapeland claims All Natural Juices. Granted "Natural" is one of those tricky words and there are lots of ways to interpret it. Being dead, is after all, perfectly natural. That being said I LOVE the juices from Alice in Vapeland and recommend them heartily; they are just delicious...

Buying 18mg base and adding flavour?

You certainly can. I just recently started DIY and when I am testing a flavor in a small volume mix (3-5ml) I do exactly what you describe. Sure, the final product is slightly lower than 18mg, but it is close enough. I just have a bottle of 18mg unflavored I use for this. When I make a...

Too much nicotine, making me tired?

Although it is sounding like you are getting too much nicotine, I'd still recommend seeing a doctor if the symptoms persist. In the meantime, you may want to get some USP VG from Walmart and cut your juice with it, thus lowering the nicotine strength. Cut it by half for 9mg and see if that is...

    E-liquid has another use!!!

Be careful getting juice on your skin - nicotine is readily absorbed by your skin. Gram for gram, nicotine is more poisonous than arsenic. If you get juice on you, you should always wash it off post haste.

Funny/Rude/Annoying Comments John Q. Public says to YOU about YOUR eCig.

I look at any misinformed comment as an opportunity to educate. I was once one of those annoying, misinformed people. I got turned on to vaping by a co-worker. I was still smoking and he had been vaping about 6 months. I remember distinctly having the "How do you know that is any less...

I got the Vaping juice blues

Yeah, for that analogy unflavored = vodka. That being said, I'm a Scotch man myself. On a more serious note, given the OP has just recently quit, I'd suggest holding on to the juice as you may find your sense of taste returns and you may end up liking some of those "juices with no flavor."

Is it possible DIY state-of-the-art high-end juices

I have just started making my own juices. So with that "Beginner's mind" disclaimer out of the way, I am pleased to say I have made several very enjoyable juices already. What I found almost immediately was that you will have the best success by mixing simple flavors first. In fact, it is...

{Yet another] First time DIY E-juice newbie wants to say HI to this forum! :-)

I think a test kit is essential. Someone a while back tested nicotine base from several vendors and some were off by a wide margin. I like to confirm that my base is actually what it says on the bottle. In all likelihood it is, but mistakes happen. Best to verify.

    Why Get Less Than 100mg

I use 36mg nicotine base, which is the highest concentration considered "safe to handle." As others have said, I do this mainly for safety reasons. The extra bulk isn't a problem for me - I have enough to last over a year and it is only taking up a small corner of the freezer. I still take...

    Gennies... am I missing something?

I highly recommend trying a ceramic wick. I only use ceramic wicks with my Genny and it is damn near perfect every time. The downside is that ceramic wicks are very fragile. If you are careful, however, one wick can last a very, very long time. I just recently broke a wick I'd been using for...

    Taking the leap into DIY

The Model Twenty Plus was the top of the line offering from KLH. A company brochure suggested this model if you listened to music at something approaching concert hall volumes. It featured 50 watts of IHF music power with a very low harmonic distortion of 1 percent. It came with the largest...

Good stuff. I've got a ton of old Tull on vinyl that I listen to on a vintage KLH Model 20 Plus I restored.

Brewing and Vaping, my 2 favorite hobbies

I have friends that brew. They make some great beers! I've always wanted to give brewing a go. Just got started with DIY e-juice mixing, maybe beer brewing is next!

    Taking the leap into DIY

I'm not worried about the math. My educational background is in mathematics and I work in a technical field; I'm pretty sure I can get the ratios right. I went for 36mg as that is considered "safe" to handle. Needless to say, I will still be using gloves/eye protection/mask for both...

    Taking the leap into DIY

Thanks for all the kind welcomes to the sub-forum! I've been doing LOTS of reading and feel pretty good about getting into it. Yes, by my calculations I'll be spending ~$0.05/ml vs. the $0.50/ml I am currently paying.
