Hi, Welcome to ECF
1: Every vv mod that I know of have a protection cutoff around the nominal voltage of the batteries that you are talking about... So that's no good.
2: I am not familiar about your batteries, but the norm is to use hi drain IMR cells.
3: Don't go cheap on batteries, they...
Can't go wrong with a provari, although a little dated, it is top notch construction and heavy duty. They also have good customer service. + it's american.
I have heard good things about the sid. and the svd.
You an look at the Vamo's as well.
For the record, I have high end mechs (Zenesis...
I'm starting to think that you are going to blow yourself up as well.
1: Read Baditudes blog please.
2: Do not attempt any sub ohm coil on your first built. It is easy to short out a battery especially if you are going to use stainless steal mesh in you RSST.
3: While MNKE IMR 18650 are good...
If there was a dislike button I would click on it right now.
I cannot disagree more.
Never... Ever buy a battery with the word fire in it's name. ESPESCIALLY WHEN USING A MECH.
Guys!!!
Again... These are no toys.
I strongly advise you to read Baditude's blog about the subject.
And then read about battery safety.
And then... read more about battery safety
You need to know what kind of battery to use, how to use ohm's law and it's relationship with battery safety...
Having more than one battery is always a good idea. Don't throw the one you have away, It makes a good backup if something ever happen to your good ones.
Hey guys!!!
Calm down will you!!!
The OP asked for a recommendation about an eGo (not even twist) and a cheap clearo and you guys tell him or her to go Mech + ULR-RBA!!!!
Relax guys!!!

You will not regret a vv mod....
And if you want to get into rebuilding... I strongly advise doing so on a Variable/regulated/protected device. When you get the hang of it, move on to mechs.
Try to buy a low resistance clearomizer (1.5 or 1.8 ohms), The clearomizer you have on there is probably of to high resistance for the battery that you have. Try to get something like this but buy an extra pack of low resistance heads. Here is a video that will teach you how to change the heads...
Ok! I think there is no way of convincing you to buy a vv device. So here is my :2c:
Mechs are good when used with low to sub ohm RBA's. They suck at running regular cartotanks, cartomizers, clearo etc...
This is where things can get dangerous if you don't know your stuff.
If you wanna...
what you could do however is to get a mech like the magneto and buy a kick, this will give you the ruggedness of a mech with the convenience of variable power.
