I had the same problem, I dry burned them after soaking them in alcohol/vodka, and then took one wick off. And after that it's been awesome, better taste, but it does flood/leak when it gets to around .75ml.

I used a stardust ce4 and that burnt out way too quickly, and currently still trying to figure out this t3 that keeps either flooding or leaking. It's looking to me like I'm going to stick with cartos till I can get into RBA's.
If only you were a socal local, if quality is your thing I'd definitely recommend beach city vapors, I think they have an online shop actually. Not sure though.
