My crappy mailman finally dropped off my MBV, now to listen to the UC buzz for the next hour. I can smell the Root Beer without even opening the bottle, I'm super stoked.
Personally the Igo-L has changed the way I vape, cut my nic level and will soon be packing my rda's with me to work because the protank and carto tanks are now underwhelming.
You don't need a mechanical for RBA/RDA, just have to have a coil above 1.2 ohms or it won't fire. I am currently using an Igo-L on a Vamo and it completely ruined carto tanks and clearomizers for me. The clouds of vapor will come with a great wick/coil. My suggestions is to do as much research...
My first "kit" came from a B&M that is tailored specifically to carto tanks. I went in their recently to pick up some wick/wire while I was waiting for my shipment and they were really confused.
29g kanthal at 10 wraps I get 1.5-1.8 ohms and run it at 10 watts. I have been spoiled by vw and don't mess a lot with vv. I am not sure why running lower volts on micros works best but I have the same experience.
Haven't tried ribbon because it looks like a PITA, but I agree with the cartos, once they are done they typically cant be salvaged--but the convenience is undeniable. I wouldn't have made it this long vaping if I didn't start with carto tanks because cigarettes are hassle free--pack, light...
I love Trainspotting, Irvine Welsh is a great writer, his book is a little more difficult. Reading a Scottish accent/slag is tough. If you have Netflix, check out Ecstacy--same principal as Trainspotting.
I would suggest torching your wire if you are using anything above 28g kanthal, it will greatly improve your ability to wrap tight close coils. They don't have to be super close initially, you can pulse the coil on your PV and then take some tweezers and scrunch the coil together.
I personally find carto tanks and clearomizers pale greatly in comparison to RDA's, I get 3x the vapor and TH and can build them for 15 cents for a month and change flavors on the fly versus a $1 cartomizer every week for a single flavor.
After a few builds you get a feel for how much cotton you need. I just wash the head, pull out the cotton, pulse the coil, and toss in a new wick. As close to plug and play for rebuilding as possible.
Nice pics, the Silver Bullet will be my first mechanical when I decide to make the step to sub-ohm coils. I keep hearing so many good things about the REO but at $200+ I just can't justify the convenience of a bottom fed mod.
My SVD is on the slow boat from China right now, I love my Vamo and need another vv/vw so I can drag my RDA's to work. Carto tanks and protanks are just not cutting it anymore.
